At the end of the 2011 season HTC Highroad folded, bring to and end the story of the massively successful Highroad Team.
But who said that all good things must come to an end. And what do they know anyway?
In sponsorship with Anglo Cycling Entertainment, Team Highroad is back and ready for more success.
Our aim is too run two 8 man squads, each with thier own clear goals.

Season Goals
## Stage wins for Cavendish
## Stage wins for Team (Inc Cav Wins)
## Sprinters Jerseys
2 GC Jerseys
Mark Cavendish
Role: Sprinting God
Its Mark Cavendish. What more needs to be said. The Manx Missle is the fastest man on two wheels. Put him on a unicycle and he would probably be the fastest man on one wheel. Winner of the Green Jersey at the 2011 TdF, if you can get him to the end of a race at the front of the peleton, you'll be taking home a winners trophy.
Mark Renshaw
Role: Leadout Man 1
The best leadout man in the business, pairing him with the worlds best sprinter is a bit of a no brainer.
Bernhard Eisel
Role: Leadout Man 2
Every good leadout man needs a leadout man of this own. Bernhard Eisel is that man. His job it to make sure Renshaw doesnt have to think much. He will make sure that the train in the right place so all our pure sprinters need to do is pedal.
David Millar
Role: Team Leader
Well, technically his not, as this is Cav's team. We dont want Cav thinking too much though, and we certainly dont want him having to watch things at the front of the pack all race. Millar will be the experienced head who will know what needs chasing, what can be left and when we need to drive. He will make sure that if a race can end in a sprint, it will do.
Geraint Thomas
Role: Team-Mate
Taylor Phinney
Role: Team-Mate
Ian Stannard
Role: Team-Mate
Luke Bobridge
Role: Team-Mate
Season Goals
3 GC Jerseys
5 YR Jerseys
## Stage Victories
## Top 10 GC placings
Tejay Van Garderen
Role: GC Kid
His called TJ. Thats a cool name. What more do you need to know?
Jon Tiernan-Locke
Role: Climb Support
JTL. We like people with funky intials on this team. JTL will chase people down on climbs, get in breakaways, and generally do whatever TJ tells him to do.
Danny Pate
Role: General Kickassary
He knows the truth. We know the truth. This team is really Team Pate! Capable of winning any race, the impervious Pate instead chooses to gift victories to his team-mates and let them think they won it themselves.
Christian Vande Velde
Role: The Boss
Just like Dave Millar in team Cav, his the leader in a spritual sense. With such a young leader, we need an experienced head to ride with him and stop him sprinting up every mountain he sees.
Richie Porte
Role: Team-mate
Cameron Meyer
Role: Team-mate
Joe Dombrowski
Role: Team-mate
Peter Stetina
Role: Team-mate

Two teams will be head up by Cavendish and TJ. Cavendish will be aiming at anything flat (and hopefully 50 wins in the season). Tj will be going for tour jerseys, either leaders or young riders.
The team will be comprised of mainly british, australian and american riders as these are our sponsors core markets. An exception will be made for Eisel because Cavendish just cant get to sleep without him by his side.
At the moment, our confirmed riders are Cavendish, Renshaw, Eisel and TJ. We are looking to you, our fans, to help guide the shape of our team. After all, you will be the ones cheering them on all season and buying their merchandise! |

i'd suggest signing Renshaw as Cav's leadout man
JTL to help TJ
Bobridge, Durbridge, Hepburn, Meyer as they are young aussies that will improve and could be helpful to bring back breaks n the flat or in TTT's
then maybe someone like Porte but not quite as good to support TJ in the high mountains.
I'm not really sure which americans you should go after, maybe Dombrowski and Stetina as tehy are both young.

Heh, I had millar on my flat list. With stannard, geraint thomas, pate! Tour was harder (was avoiding froome/wiggo due to them being better then TJ atm. Might take rogers and porte on the tour team as I have an unhealthy obsession with them in game. Just so damn useful :-D
Already got renshaw as a confirmed. Obviously he is cavs leadout :-D. Some nice young aussie there, forgot about meyer. Quite like him ingame actually. Won nationals with him on a couple of custom starts when I first got the game.
Talansky looks like a good young american too. Might be a litttle too good to be support for long, but I can always expand the team next year if we get promoted (which I imagine I will do if I give Cav a full flat schedule.

I'd take a veteran american like Horner, Danielson or Vande Velde to back up TJ instead of taking Talansky.
Phinney is always a good pick. Useful for TTT's for the stage races and a good flat rider for Cav's team as well.
What DB are you using?

Default db as I seem to have problems getting other dbs to run right.
I like phinney irl[img][/img], but his appallingly rated on the original db. I'll almost certainly take thomas on cavs team and he does a similar thing, awesome on flat and brilliant for TTTs
@Manx - I think most of those are very much not anglo (american british or aussie). Might take the good velitz though so eisel can have a non-anglo friend :-D |

You will need Grabsch & Gretsch. It's not Team Highroad without them |

Good Luck flair, hope it goes well for you
Although you have a hard task in front of you if you are going to get Cav 50 wins in a season |

Yeah. Well, its a custom team so I'll be able to basically pick and choose races more easily. It will be next to impossible if I send him TdF, the problem is I'm not sure I'll get invited unless I send him so I might have to sacrifice the 50 wins with Cav season one in order to get TJs rep enough for him to get invite to TdF in his own right.
Incidently, I'm probaly going to setup the save tonight, so last chance for rider selection! Tommorrow we shall plan the calander XD.
I actually have a version of this running already (I started it when I first got the game, forgot about it, rediscovered the save and figured I'd start again and story it). It was a kinda nuts good start. Meyer won nats, Cav nabbed win #1 in the one day race before Tour of Qatar and then went 5/6 for stage wins there XD
EDIT: @Daggen: Pfft. Its not old highroad. This is the future. We have the Cav train, we have TJ.
And most importantly.
We will have Pate!

Ok, I'm probably going to use the PCM database cos I think I've realised why I couldnt get it work. I just got the update for 1.4, which doesnt actually contain the database XD.
So I'll have all the extra riders and races that the update gives me XD. Probably means my original schedule will get ripped up
Anyway, it means rider selection wont be final till tomo night when i get to look through the new database, as I prolly wont get time by the time tonight. |

You've one problem (sorta)... You've got 8 man squads, but need 9 riders to do GT's... Other than that though, it's looking really nice, and I love the idea |

I'll mix the squads for the first season TdF, and then send the guys who arent involved to some other races whilst the TdF runs. As I'll doubtless have at least one newgen trainee to send with my reserve squad (or I can just send a short squad to them) |
