Welcome all! We are happy to announce that PrivatBank will enter the world of cycling. A small intro: Privatbank is a large bank from Ukraine which also has subsidiaries in Russia, Latvia, Georgia, Portugal and Cyprus. This means the team will be mainly Ukrainian-based, filled with riders from those few countries. When Alexander Gontchenkov, once second in Milan - San Remo, heard Honchar became DS of a Continental Team he was eager to start another team himself. Oleksandr Dubilet, Chairman of PrivatBank who is a great cycling fan assured Alexander to sponsor him for atleast 3 years.
Oleksandr wants to motivate young Ukrainians to start cycling. Therefore the team will be formed around some veterans. We will not reveal any target riders yet. They'll be accompanied by young prospects. We don't expect to win anything in our first seasons, the goal is to create a strong Ukrainian team within three years.
Vorganov will look great in his national champion jersey!

Privatbank; The largest commercial bank in Ukraine. They will give us enough budget to create a team which can compete in smaller (stage) races.
Scott; They won't support us moneywise, they'll just equip the team with great bikes.
Nalini; They also won't help us moneywise, they'll just send us some clothes, which is cool too, cycling naked isn't that aerodynamic...

Top 10s of Points/KoM/Youth/Team won't be shown, just stage and GC top 10s. Results are shown in chronological order.

I bet Avin will enjoy a rival Ukrainian team.
Could be some big battles during the transfers!

And that's why I'll also sign Russians, Latvians, Portugese, Cyprian and Georgian riders, if I get that oppurtunity.

Whoa... whoa I'd stick with the other countries first
CSC-Orbea welcomes you to the CT, but also take this as a warning

I knew this was going to happen on 90%.
Good luck for PrivatBank, there is certainly room for more than one team from Ukraine, one better and one worse and you can still focus on the other nations also.
PrivatBank will probably hear from us soon with some kind of official announcement and welcome to our new player on the Ukrainian field.

Team Metinvest-Emirates welcomes the new team from Ukraine!
Hello Mr. Gontchenkov
Serhiy Honchar here, it is nice that you are coming in my footsteps and try to start developing cycling in Ukraine, i hope this is something we both want to achieve for out beautiful country.I know how hard is to speak with management sometimes, if you need some advices how to handle them, we can help each other as the former cyclists.
My wish is to welcome you in the world of Continental Tour and give some opinions about how our teams can live healthy together in this crazy world of proffesional cycling.
Our intensions in Metinvest are not to fight with PrivatBank, that would not be good for anyone. On the other side, both our teams can benefit somewhat from cooperation of some form or at least friendly competition atmospehere. Last thing we want is the start of the bidding war and bad moves.
We feel that rider field in Ukraine is broad and there is certainly room for development of many talented riders. Also our team will maybe drop some of the experienced D2 riders, but this is question of transfer renewals, anyway we are looking to rebuild our squad a lot. But one thing here must be clear, we will probably try to sign the very best local riders available and especially focus on Ukraine few top talents, there will still be many of them in the pool remaining for others, we are not allowed to specify that now of course. Metinvest is clearly looking to stay the best team in Ukraine, that is how the team was build and only way it can exist now.
With this we are not trying to fear you, as said earlier PrivatBank team is warmly welcomed. We are really looking forward to possible cooperation, two-way loaning of riders and reasonable acting on the transfer market, we are easy to get on with.
So good luck for PrivatBank and lets go make our country proud together.
Yours sincerely,
Serhiy Honchar, manager of Metinvest-Emirates 2013

Dear Mr. Honchar
I also think we could save ourselves alot of trouble by not starting biddingwars. Although I do not want to end up with a team which can't win anything, therefore I already made my personal shortlist. I know Metinfast started to create an enormously strong team. I can assure you now that we won't overbid you on mediocre riders, or riders that would blow our budget.
This means we could end up overbidding you on future stars, we will try to do this as little as possible, but sometimes we will just have to in order to be competitive.
Our focus isn't just Ukraine, we expect to get teamleaders from either Russia or Portugal, so your 'high class locals' will be yours, unless another team decides to spoil you plans. We aim to get 18 riders, with atleast 10 of them Ukrainian, this means there probably will be more than enough riders to 'share', if you know what I mean.
At last we also hope we can cooperate in the futute to enhance cycling in Ukraine. The idea of two-wayloaning seems ideal when either one of us has a rider from the other teams' focused regions. I understood you also focus on South-African and Arabian riders, where I focus on Portugese, Russian, Georgia, Latvian and Cipriat riders. That would make our sponsors happy, and we would help eachother training riders.
Thanks for welcoming us and expect to hear from me soon.
Yours sincerely,
Alexander Gontchenkov, manager of Team PrivatBank 2013

After Metinvest announced a part of their shortlist, PrivatBank will do the same. They fully understand Metinvest wants to be the strongest Ukrainian team around, but their wishes would make the team worthless. That's why PrivatBank won't let them get both Polivoda and Popkov, 'We just need one of those two'. Also 26 year old Mykhaylo Kononenko would be a great rider to help youngsters find their ways in professional cyling.
Now PrivatBank's focus isn't just Ukraine. They also focus on Cyprus, Georgia and Latvia. 'We want some riders from thos countries'. Vassilis Adamou, the only professional Cipriat, Archil Makharashvili and Irakli Bablidze, two Georgians could be the reprsentatives from those nations. From Latvia we would like to sign Maris Bogdanovics, Emil Liepins and Andris Smirnovs.
The team said they will not announce the youngsters they are looking to sign. Also they refused to say the Portugese and Russian riders they want, as PrivatBank is also based in those two countries.
