for those of you who still think Floyd is a doper. If you don't read this then you have no clue and don't deserve an opinion. Enjoy.

the moment I saw this thread on the main page I instantly knew what it was about
do you actually think you're going to convince anyone with that kind of agression?
I'm 100% sure Contador is doped, do you see me going around attacking people because they don't believe he is? people are entitled to their opinions.

The documents basically have two different focuses.
Levi's basically pointed out all the mistakes that occurred during the testing, transport and handling of the samples. It is trying to discredit the results.
True's is based on what those results showed and that they did indeed break the rules.
Floyd probably cheated (again... I think everyone who's finished in the top 20 of the TDF for the past 20 years has been cheating). But the mistake's Levi's document point out are somewhat egregious. If you have the wrong identification number (in multiple places), how can you legally link a rider to the sample?
So I think he did fail the test... but based on the actual testing rules he shouldn't have been found guilty because of lab mistakes. It's all a matter of legal finding vs actual occurrence. |

Landis was also whining that the court ordered IRMS testing on samples that had a negative ratio. IRMS tests are only performed when the ratio is positive, so he claimed that was illegal.
Surprisingly enough, the IRMS tests showed the first samples were also testosterone positive.
Cheaters go out, those IRMS tests, plus the first ones, are enough evidence to prove Landis guilt, and to not have him in cycling for a too short while.
It's not the laboratory trial, it's Landis trial. Don't target the wrong persons...
Question is not 'did the laboratory perform its job absolutely perfectly ?', but 'did Landis use testosterone ?'

The link I posted is the official document from the court. It shows both Landis' view and the prosecutor's view. I read it all, but I could have stopped already after the first couple of pages -- after the samples. They clearly show that Landis was doped. There's no way that non-natural-testosterone can show up in the tests out of nowhere -- that's a fact. Yet, they appear in Landis' samples anyway.
I don't think anyone should deny that fact. I don't deny that mistakes might have been made when _handling_ the tests. But that doesn't change the fact that an illegel substance appeared in Landis' test - a substance which would have shown up even if 1 million mistakes were made or even if no mistakes were made. Landis doped himself. He knows that himself, and he knows that the only way he can get off with no punishment is to critisize the system.
The only way I can ever regain the respect for him would be if he at some point finally admitted everything, including what happened at Discovery / Lance. I would even say he should be allowed to ride again _now_, if he gave some useful information about that |

the simple fact of the matter is that Landis is arguing that a technicality should invalidate the positive tests. that's the lowlife way out. getting off on a technicality. and it's EXACTLY what he's trying to do and there is absolutely no room for doubt when reading the case's transcripts

My only addition to what others are saying is that I believe everyone else on the podium was a doper too.
I think Landis, Pererio, Kloden, Sastre, Contador, Evans, Leipheimer, Armstrong, Basso, Ulrich, Vinokuorov, Beloki, Zulle, Escartin, Julich, Virenque, Patanni, Riis, Indurain, Ugrumov, Rominger, Jaskula, Chiapucci, and Bugno were all doped.
I tend to agree with Greg Lemond when he said that something happened in cycling around 1990 or 1991 where everyone all of a sudden got tons better.

Cadel is considered by many to be one of the cleanest in the sport currently,
some obviously don't
i don't think Pereiro was doped, he only won the TdF because the pack gave him 30mins advantage, had he not got that he would've ended way down the list

Pereiro still managed to follow in the mountains later, so maybe he ate the candy when he saw that he had a chance?
