Team Festina - Canal + 2013 HQ
We welcome you to yet another season of following Team Festina in the Pro Tour, in the world of top cycling. We are currently in negotiation with two new sponsors for the team, to raise it's current level of competition.
We have never been afraid of waving our arms around, making ourselfs noted. This season will be no different. We have just one goal: Win the Pro Tour. The past couple of seasons we have been within touching ground, and deducting some bad luck we are there. This season will be about removing the small mistakes we have made over the years to be as competitive as we can be.
Festina remain our main sponsor for the time being, but french networking station Canal+ have joined up with the swiss watch company to create one of the strongest teams out there. A small greek bank has decided to take park as a minor sponsor as long as we try to enforce greek cycling, which we would love to do.

Markus Fothen has expressed his wishes to ride for a German team, any comments on that?

We have no comments regarding which teams Markus wants to ride for. So far he is contracted to Team Festina, but if his wishes are to leave, we are going to have a look into it. We don't think we will get anything out of keeping a rider against his will, but we are not just going to lose him from the contract, and we have to talk to him about what he wants. If rumours are true, though, we would be willing to listen to offers. Good offers that is.

Both riders could potentially be interested in a move like that.
Team Lotto - Cervélo has a few riders interesting for Team Festina, such as Manuel Lloret, Maxime Monfort, Tommy Zaini, Dimitri Claeys, Javier Aramendia and Gerald Ciolek.

Aker - MOT's leader ember is under the impression Castroviejo enjoyed his 2012 in the Norwegian team, and rumour has it Aker - MOT wants to sign him permanent for 2013.
Do you have any comment on that, and will it be possible for Castroviejo to go cheap to Aker - MOT, as he enjoyed his experience there in 2012? |

Cheap no, but conclusions after a brief meeting with Jonathan is that he is definately interested in moving back to Aker, where he had a good season. He has commented:
"My time at Aker was immense. It was really interessting to help a team to promote, and it was clear that the manager believed I would be a good rider soon. That means a lot to me. I know that Festina Mananager, Andreas Jøhnke has a place for me in next years season, but I know aswell as anyone that I don't feature in the plans to get any sort of free role this year. I think I need that to develop into the rider I know I can be. A loan deal back to Aker, or even a permanent deal would probably be the best possible solution for me personally".

Team Festina announce new sponsor
Earlier today team manager, Andreas Jøhnke, arrived in Paris to meet the directors at CANAL +. After the meeting, he took the time to talk the the presslounge regarding the new sponsor.
"We are very happy to conclude the final paperworks here in Paris, and to have signed with a worldwide network company such as CANAL+ is a huge PR boost for us, aswell as financially of course. This huge deal assures that we can yet again create a team well capable of competing for the Pro Tour title. We are hungering for it, so it gives a great personal boost for me to know that it yet again is up to me, to create the succes.
The sponsorship obviously changes our goals a bit from last season where the Vuelta was our main objective. We have to focus a lot on the Tour de France this season, and we want to have a strong base of french riders. We cannot promise to win the race, but we will definately strive to have a competitive lineup for the race. Markus Fothen could have given us a good result last season, but getting a top 10 result, and besides that being fairly neutral in the race is not good enough anymore.
We still need to go to Athens to make the third sponsorship legit, but we are close to a deal there aswell. Based on the fact that we feel very confident that our team will be fully assembled, financially, tonight or tomorrow we will announce one of two possible jerseys for the next season. We are proud of the first design, and it will take a good shot from our other designer to beat this. Feel free to comment."

Just look at the one waving his arm at the finish line. That should be the easiest way to spot it

The second jersey design to be revealed
Maximka has yet again spent a lot of time making a beautiful jersey for us. Here is a sneak preview. We are yet to decide which to use this season, and probably the one not being used in the normal season will be used in the Grand Tours instead (If possible?).
Have a look, and feel free to comment both shirts.

Both are brilliant. I must say I prefer the second one though, as I love the colours.

I think your team will definitely be one to watch.
Seriously though I love both jerseys. The actual watch face on the first one is incredible but in terms of colours and overall design I'd go for the second one.

I like the first one better (might be even better if it had the yellow from the 2nd shirt) but I just like the design more, as the 2nd one reminds me of Omega Pharma too much.

New Pro-Continental outfit Alstom-RBC have expressed great interest in Anthony Lavione through the Canadian Media there are quoted as saying Lavione would make a "brilliant top sprinter for the team". Can you see a deal for the rider being made? |
