Hi There,

i45.tinypic.com/nx8avn.jpg

My name is Bradley Wiggins but you can call me Wiggo. I was born on 28th April in 1980 (32 years old) in Ghent, Belgium. I am the current British national champion and I am very keen to show of my new colors. I am very focused on winning the Tour de France and I only have a few more years to do that.

I have been very dominant in some races over the years like last years Vuelta a Espana which I managed to come 3rd in. My biggest result in my career so far would be last years TT world championship which I managed to get 2nd in. In 2009 I got my best result at the Tour de France and that was a 4th place overall. It was a great result but some people, including me, call it a fluke. This year I have many opportunities, one is to win the Tour de France and the other is the world championships TT.

i46.tinypic.com/2cxxa3q.jpg

2012
I will be trying to improve on my time trialing before the end of the season and will try and win quite a lot of other races. I am the main rider on the team along with Mark Cavendish so together we are hoping to achieve a lot this year. I will be going to the Tour with Chris Froome as my main man. Cav will have Edvald Boasson Hagen at the tour to lead him out.

The team preview is up next which I will post very soon.

Talk again soon

The Riders

Mark Cavendish

i47.tinypic.com/dfu836.jpg

Cavendish is the reigning world champion that he won with a dominant performance in Copenhagen at the end of last season. He is hoping to win the green jersey for the 2nd year in a row at the tour this year. It will be difficult especially since Wiggins is going for the overall win there but he can defiantly give it a shot.

Chris Froome

i45.tinypic.com/23ste9s.jpg

Chris Froome is a fantastic hill climber. He was at the Vuelta with Wiggins at the end of last season and came 2nd overall in front of Wiggins. He was 40 seconds ahead of him in the overall. Froome will be Wiggins big helper in the Tour and may be the difference between winning and loosing.

Edvald Boasson Hagen

i47.tinypic.com/2mceel1.jpg

Edvald Boasson Hagen (or EBH for short) is a fantastic sprinter/puncheur. He won 2 stages of the tour last season and is hoping to win one this year. He will be Cav's main leadout at the Tour this year.

Tom Danielson

i50.tinypic.com/vxm3jp.jpg

Tommy D is a very experienced stage racer. He will defiantly be the leader for the Giro unless injury rules him out. Tom Danielson came in 9th last year at the Tour and will be hoping to improve this season.

Roger Hammond

i49.tinypic.com/2vtcmft.jpg

Roger Hammond is a great Northern Classics rider. He will defiantly be at most of the cobbles races. He will be the leader for them but he will need a lot of luck to win one of the monuments.

Nicki Sorensen

i48.tinypic.com/15wo1mr.jpg

Nicki is a great climber. He has been the danish national champion many times and will most likely be at one of the GT's this season.

David Millar

i48.tinypic.com/o0kyr.jpg

Dav Millar is one of the worlds best time trialers. He will defiantly be at the tour and be a workhorse for the team.

Chris Anker Sorensen

i49.tinypic.com/351tzzq.jpg

Chris will be the leader for the Vuelta and may be in for a chance of a top 10 overall. He will be a helper to Wiggins in a few races but he will not feature at the Tour.

Simon Clarke

i46.tinypic.com/34hj5ar.jpg

Former Aus NC Simon Clarke be hoping to win it again this season. He may be at a GT but it all depends on how he does on the build up to them.

Ian Stannard

i45.tinypic.com/20unwvc.jpg

Ian is another northern classics rider. He is not as good as Hammond but he will certainly be a big help for his leader.

Lars Petter Nordhaug

i49.tinypic.com/wcmg5w.jpg

Lars is a great mountain climber. He will most likely be at a GT to get in a breakaway and maybe even win a stage.

Steve Cummings

i49.tinypic.com/2pqlsmb.jpg

Steve is a great hill climber and time trialist. He is only young and defiantly has room for improvement. You may see him in a GT.

Brett Lancaster

i47.tinypic.com/2ce58bp.jpg

Brett is a great time trialist and is very experienced. He will be going to the Vuelta hoping to get a win in one of the TT's.

Adam Hansen

i45.tinypic.com/2gw5kew.jpg

Adam is a former National time trial champion. He will be hoping to improve on his time trialing this year and be ready for the world championships.

Stuart Shaw

i46.tinypic.com/2a649e1.jpg

Stuart is an experienced rider and is ready for anything that the racing throws at him. He is experienced and will be a big helper in the smaller stage races.

Peter Kennaugh

i47.tinypic.com/am5hkm.jpg

Peter is a very young mountain climber. He will hope to have improved a lot before the 2nd half of the season where he could challenge for some smaller stage races.

Taylor Phinney

i50.tinypic.com/6h7xxg.jpg

Taylor Phinney is a great track cyclist that has changed over to the road. He has been the Nation Champion for RR and TT. He came 3rd in the Melbourne RR world championships at the end of 2010 in a bunch sprint. Phinney has a very bright future ahead of him.

Thomas Palmer

i47.tinypic.com/289ap0z.jpg

Tom Palmer is a great sprinter and has won many races. He will be a great leadout man for someone in the smaller races.

Alex Dowsett

i45.tinypic.com/111jb05.jpg

Alex is a time trialist and that is about it. He doesn't have much talent in anything else so he will be a workhorse/breakaway rider this season.

Andrew Fenn

i49.tinypic.com/w8742x.jpg

Andrew is a great sprinter. He came 3rd in the world championships at the end of last season and has a lot of room for improvement. He will be hoping to win a race or 2 this season.

Full Roster

i48.tinypic.com/206edtl.png

That's the full squad. The next post will be the sponsors and the jersey.

Thanks

The Sponsors

AXA Insurance

i45.tinypic.com/11gnlgw.jpg

AXA is the team's main sponsor and the only one that has naming rights. They are a British car insurance company and are very happy with the rider's we have signed. They are hoping for many good results including a 1st place in the Giro d'Italia.

Raleigh

i45.tinypic.com/wkpqi9.png

Raleigh is a British bike company and they will be supplying us with our bikes. The team doesn't really have a choice of bikes because there is one for the road racing and one for the time trialing. These are the bikes;

Road
i48.tinypic.com/1g5czt.jpg

TT
i48.tinypic.com/20qe4j4.jpg

The bikes aren't the best but they will have to do.

Castelli

i50.tinypic.com/206c6jk.jpg

Castelli is our clothing manufacturer. They will be providing us with the kit and gloves and lots of other clothing equipment.

Giro

i46.tinypic.com/21ozodu.jpg

Giro is supplying us with the best helmets they have. It will make us faster in a road race and more aerodynamic in a time trial. This season will be great with Giro helmets on our heads.

Mavic

i50.tinypic.com/2j5j58x.jpg

Mavic is supplying the team with there Mavic wheels and there awesome yellow racing shoes. We will look great in the peloton with yellow shoes on.

Garmin

i45.tinypic.com/rwovad.jpg

Garmin are supplying us with their Garmin EDGE 800 cycling computers. They will be useful for telling us what speed we are going i and where to go. They will also tell us the gradient of the final climb in the Tour de France.

That is all the sponsors.

Thanks for your time

Some Confusion

If you are wondering why the squad is different to the first part of the story it is because the game got ride of them and I had to do the DB again and didn't put those riders in.

Thankyou

The other thread was getting too messy and I decided I wanted to just post them straight away now and start the season. So I did it on the other thread and decided that it was too messy so I am now going to do it on this thread.

The first race should be up this weekend. My race schedule will be up either tonight or tommorow.

A hilly race but may be a sprinters race. I am hoping for a break around the 30km to go mark, if not I have some sprinters here to.

The Race

About 30km into the race the team was already showing its colours in France.

i50.tinypic.com/28vy4aw.png

The first attacks came from Bretagne and Thorn. Both team’s small and are hoping for a breakaway win. The 2 riders are Halleguen and Burgal.

i50.tinypic.com/r01sar.png

That group got caught very fast by the work of Hansen and Nordhaug.
With 115km to go the hilly section of the course started. This is where riders will start to drop off the peloton.

The first break to actually get a decent gap was a group of 3 containing Honig, Rasch and Coyot. They have a gap of 1.40 with 83km to go.

i50.tinypic.com/8yvvbc.png

With 60km to go the team had managed to bring the gap down to around 1 minute. I am feeling pretty good under the protection of Simon Clarke.

With 35km to go Ag2r and Skil took over the pace making. The gap was still at 1.20 to the breakaway group.

i49.tinypic.com/30jhe7d.png

With 22km to go I attacked. The break was caught at the same time.

i49.tinypic.com/xckxtg.png

With 18km to go Phinney attacked out of the peloton following a few attacks.

There was a leading group of 6 about 30 seconds in front of the peloton with 15km to go. I was in the leading group with Phinney about 20 seconds behind.

i49.tinypic.com/2dkbtj9.png

With 10km to go my group was still about 30 seconds in front.

With 5km to go my group was caught so I kept working and Phinney got on my wheel with Clarke and Lancaster on his wheel.

Lancaster had to start his sprint with 2km to go but I was on Geslin’s wheel ready to go.

With 1km to go Lancaster was only just in front of the rest and probably won’t win but can still get a podium.

i45.tinypic.com/29yimac.png

Goddaert takes it ahead of Chavanel and Voeckler. Lancaster came just outside the top 10 but still a great race for the team.

Aus Championships- The Aus Champs were won by the one and only Cadel Evans. It was quite a heated race but Evans was too strong. He won ahead of Brett Lancaster who out sprinted Gerrans for 2nd place.

Tour of Australia- The Tour of Australia was absolutely dominated by Edvald Boassen Hagen never leaving the top 3 in a stage or overall until the last stage where he sprinted to 4th place. He won the overall by 28 seconds to Vinokourov and Romain Feillu. EBH won stage 3 and 5. Greipel won stages 1, 4 and 6 and Ciolek won stage 2.

Giro Della Calabria- Jerome Pineau took a win on stage 2 and took the overall and never let go. He did just enough to hold onto it in the last stage where he came in 5th place. Kiserlovski won stage 1, Pineau stage 2 and Rhys Pollock stage 3.

Tour of Oman- EBH was there to win but unfortunately a break stayed away on stage 3 and took the overall as well. EBH won the mountain stage and came 2nd in the TT behind team mate Dave Millar. Overall a good race for the team. Johan Vonsummeran took the overall win here.

Gent Lokeran- Bjorn Leukemans had a fantastic race her beating Vonsummeran and Van Avermaet. He will be here next year to try and defend his title.

Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne- Fabian Cancellara won ahead of Boonen and Breschal. All these riders are trying to get on prime form for the big classics. Cancellara and Boonen are looking pretty good.

Stage 1

Today is my 2nd race day of the year and I am really looking forward to it. I am looking to win this tour as it is very important to my preparation for my big goal of the year, the Tour de France. Anyway, today we are looking for EBH to set of our tour with a top 3. All I want to do is sit in the peloton and chill for the first few stages.

The Race

The first attacks came from Rasmussen, Veuchelen and Nordhaug.

i47.tinypic.com/qs3uir.png

Nordhaug won the mountain sprint and will be wearing the jersey for tomorrow’s stage.

With 124km to go the leading group had 2.42 on the peloton.

i45.tinypic.com/2mfgepy.png

At the first intermediate sprint point the leading group of 10 riders was almost 5 minutes ahead.

At the last intermediate sprint point the leading group of 10 was now 1.49 seconds in front.

With 12km to go the leading group had 2 minutes on the peloton. If they don’t start chasing now it could be all over.

i45.tinypic.com/nbztbk.png

With 4km to go Nordhaug was on the front of his group trying to catch the rider in front of him.

With 500m to go Rasch was 1.35 ahead of the peloton. He is defiantly going to win but behind Nordhaug’s group has just been caught and the sprint for 2nd was on.

i50.tinypic.com/fcoapl.png

Rasch wins by a mile for his new FDJ team. Behind EBH was leading the sprint home.

Boasson Hagen seals 2nd place ahead of Hushovd and Hunt. Tomorrow the sprinters will be wanting to get the win in a bunch sprint.

I sprinted to a fantastic 24th place. A great stage for the team but would have been better if we had won.

Stage 2

Stage 2 is another flat stage. The team will be looking to get a top 3 today. The sprinters will really want a mass sprint today after a break stayed away yesterday.

The Race

Stuart Shaw attacked following 2 other attacks by Spezialetti and Buffaz. They created a leading group of 3.

i49.tinypic.com/15wc42g.png

With 164km to go the leading group of 3 was 50 seconds in front of the next group of 8, and 1.40 ahead of Will Clarke. The leading group had 2.14 on the peloton.

The group of 8 managed to catch up to the leading group of 3. It is now a group of 11.

i45.tinypic.com/dpvgj9.png

Nordhaug has closed the gap down to 1.41 after about 50km of working.

The leading group was caught with 113km to go. Klamme attacked straight away and Shaw got straight on his wheel.

i48.tinypic.com/14docw9.png

With 100km to go the leading group of was 56 seconds ahead of Pietropolli and 4.08 ahead of the peloton.

After the first sprint (64km to go) the leading group of 3 had 5.39 on the peloton.

i47.tinypic.com/zu4jte.png

After the 2nd and last sprint (46km to go) the leading group of 3 had 4.06 on the peloton. Pietropolli won the sprint again ahead of Shaw and Klamme got 3rd.

i47.tinypic.com/fbgf1j.png

With 35km to go I told Millar to go on the front and pull back the breakaway.

i48.tinypic.com/2pob3p3.png

With 20km to go Pietropolli went off on his own. The peloton was now only 55 seconds behind the leader.

The last breakaway rider to be caught was Pietropolli with 17km to go.

With 12km to go the team had a leadout set up for EBH. I was in 2nd wheel.

i46.tinypic.com/fw16rc.png

I took over with 9km to go but we lost a few positions at the front.

With 3km to go it was a drag race between us and BMC. BMC was about half a wheel in front.

i48.tinypic.com/igyof7.png

With 1km to go EBH was winning the drag race now but can he hold on?

i50.tinypic.com/b3t0cw.png

Yes he can. He takes the 2nd stage of Paris-Nice. He has closed the gap on the overall and could have the overall in a few days. I came in a fantastic 8th place. I defiantly wasn’t expecting that.
