Soooo, I decided to start a new story, as my Fiat- Diadora save went corrupt. This time I'll need YOU!
Career data:
DB: dBa by Altehacke updated stats
Evolution: 0.3
Racing level: Hard
The team is sponsored by the canadian company, SpiderTech. They're one of the most famous canadian companies, when it comes to sport. They're helping people to achieve more with their Kinesiology products. Spidertech had his own Continental team, but now they decided to go one step bigger. They want to compete with the big guns on every type of terrain. No matter what, it will be very tough, but they believe in the team.
Our other big sponsor is bike- constructor Cervélo, who also had their own team. They will provide our bikes, and help with any mechanical problems.
Here is our jersey designed by fcancellara!

Squad is presentation is up. It's not finalised, the training peaks for the riders are not added yet, it'll be finshed tomorrow.
The season goals will be fictional, as the original goals are quite interesting. I'll give the goals to you later tonight. |

I was thinking a bit, and I found out a game, which brings more excitement to the races.
After each stage the Directour Sportif will pick a rider, who gets the "Spider of the day" award. This gives the rider one point. I will make a scoreboard in the 3rd post, so you can follow your points. Oh and if you only have a domestique, then there is nothing to worry, domestiques can also get points for their hard work. The maximum points to get on a stage is 3. It's possible that 3 riders share the points, but no half points. I hope the game is clear for everybody. It's just a little game to entertain.

Good idea!
Do the points only count for a rider classification, or also for the creators of the riders?
That way it would be even more interactive!
(and then devide points by number of riders the creator submitted, otherwise people like me have an advantage )

This year's field is very strong when it comes to sprinting, and in the TDU, that's what matters. Here is the world champion, Mark Cavendish, the old italian Petacchi, the always 2nd Tyler Farrar, also Bennati, Sagan and Turgot are there. And I didn't even mention the Gorilla, Andre Greipel with his Lotto - Belisol team. This race will be a great indicator of form, and it's always nice to start off with victories.

Santos Tour Down Under Stage 1
Today's profile is fairly flat, but the finish is a little bit uphill. It probably won't disturb the sprinters, and they'll battle it out.
Gary Sutton tried to breakaway right from the start, and it was looking good but Orica- Greenedge pulled him back. Right after the catch Erland Brixen attacked and got away with 4 companions, the biggest name being Borut Bozic.
The biggest lead of the break was 6 minutes, but the sronger teams like RSNT, Sky and Greenedge started to pull them back.
The BotD was pulled back with about 20kms to go, and the sprint preps have started. SpiderTech - Cervélo formed a train with Sutton, Gömböcz and Clamson being the leadout of britishman D'Hout. The train was a little bit blocked, but we believed in our leadoutmans.
With 5km to go Gömböcz took over and fired the team to the top of the peleton. At around 2.5 km Clamson started his jump, and brought our sprinter to a great position.
At 1.6km Turgot started his jump with Cav on his wheel, and Cav started to accelerate. William Bonnet followed with D'Hout.
And Cavendish wins stage 1! He outsprinted Bonnet and Turgot. D'Hout got 4th. At the last kms there were split containing Cancellara, Ballan and Rogers.
Spoiler Sorry for the lack of the final SS, somehow I deleted it.

Shame that Gary didn't get into the break but will try it that's for sure. Probably the next stage suits D'Hout better, but the competition is really strong. |

Santos Tour Down Under Stage 2
This is a perfect for the sprinters. Not too much climbing, short, so it will probably be a speedfest at the end of the day.
Favourites:
Cavendish (Sky)
Bennati (RNT)
Petacchi (LAM)
The riders were quite active in the first kms and a big break got formed, including our Gary Sutton with famous riders like Ventoso or Larsson. The peleton wasn't interested to chase hard and the break held a big lead.
At around 40kms Radioshack and Greenedge realised the danger, and pushed the pace hard.
With the 10km mark the break was still not caught and had a little gap over the peleton.
The break got caught with 6kms to go and our train got boxed in, so we had big problems.
After a good fight by Clemson, we were still back in the mix. Gömböcz started his leadout at 2.5kms and was still going strong at the 1km mark. Cav was nowhere to be seen till the 1km mark, he went very early.
Can D'Hout beat Cav? No way, he loses badly and even Bos and Bonnet overtake him.
Cav scored two in a row, and his speed is just frightening for the others. He wins with ease. D'Hout was kinda disappointing, as he was in the best place at the 1km mark, and he just got beaten. Badly...
