The Gijpvogel, one of the latest additions to VI, is a cartoonified René van der Gijp, one of the many common guests in VI. His interests about cycling don't reach much further than Peta Todd.
VI follows the team during the off-season, interviews riders and makes photoshoots of important events.
Sponsors
[img-l]https://www.bijgespijkerd.nl/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/VI-Logo.jpg[/img-l] Main sponsor Voetbal International is a popular football magazine in the Netherlands which has its own TV show twice per week. Last year, the same broadcaster has started a talkshow during the Tour called Tour du Jour, with almost the same cast. Though the show is owned by its broadcaster, RTL, it is often linked to VI. Its success has inspired VI to start its own cycling magazine, and what's a better way to promote it in the Netherlands than by starting its own cycling team?
Contract length:3 years
Important races:Well-known Dutch races, Tour de France
[img-l]https://image.spreadshirt.net/image-server/image/design/14769743/type/png/width/190/height/190/red-sigaarsnor_design.png[/img-l] After the news of a new team was spread, VI's independant fanbase, SigaarSnor was unhappy that VI would be "just" a Dutch team without a WT status. So they started asking members to donate, and they did. A lot. However, they realise that they can't do that every year, so they'll have to find a new sponsor soon. The only thing the fans care about is fun on TV, so they want to see as many attacking riders as possible.
Contract length:1 year
Important races: Tour de France, Tour de France, Tour de France
[img-l]https://images.hebikietsgemist.nl/Images/Programmas/rtl-7-tour-du-jour.jpg[/img-l] Tour du Jour and Voetbal International broadcaster RTL7 has also donated some money to promote their show during the Tour. It's not a lot, but hey, at least it's more than the average person earns per month. Of course, sponsoring a team during the Tour is a risk; if the team won't get good results during the Tour, they'll make a fool of themselves.
Contract length:2 years, negotiations to become a co-sponsor have started
Important races: Tour de France
[img-l]https://oxford.vdbparts.be/images/zannata-logo.jpg[/img-l]Zannata will be our equipment sponsor. The Belgium company is unknown in Europe as they only sponsor Accent Jobs, and they hope to change that by sponsoring us. It does give us some money, but are the bikes good enough for a WT team?
Contract length:1 year (option for another year)
Important races: Races in the Benelux
[img-l]https://avantisport.nl/images/wysiwyg_uploads/images/quick_logo.jpg[/img-l]Though most known for its shoes, Quick also designs clothes for the VI fanshop. Now they hope to take their brand to a higher level, by making clothes for professional football and cycling teams.
Contract length:3 years
Important races: Dutch smaller races
Sponsoring
Metec is a small continental team, trained by one of the guys of Tour du Jour, Gert Jakobs (photo, right, no idea who the guy on the left is). We've signed an agreement that we will have a first option of their talents, in return they will get some of our Zannata frames. Will one of their talens be in our team next season?

Epic List Winners
These riders were selected by VI's fans at the SigaarSnor forums.
Michael Rasmussen
Contract ends: 2012
I don't think he needs an introduction, the champion of low-weight measurements will have his last chance at the Tour with us.
Johnnie Walker
Contract ends: 2014
The 24-year old Australian became popular during the 2010 Vuelta. Not because of his great results, but because of his name.
Juraj Sagan
Contract ends: 2014
He was a reserve on our wish list, but since Marc de Maar and Yohann Gène have decided to try their luck elsewhere, we decided to sign Peter's lost brother after all. Perhaps the fans just wanted him to motivate Peter?

Remember this is just an idea, if the Man-Game doesn't work out I may have to close this story. I don't control the results and I only know three of my riders so far, so I can't really set goals yet, and as you can see I suck at layouts I'd be happy if it can make more people interesting in the Pseudo Man-Game, though
You may post now! |

Seems like a cool idea.
Important races - 'Tour de France, Tour de France, Tour de France.'
I'm thinking you'd like to go well in the Tour, no?

Thanks
Updated the first three riders. As for the 4th rider, my first choice is Steven Kruijswijk (2nd pick last draft), so I have a Dutch GC guy for the Tour to please my sponsors. But I probably won't get him, so I might get a talented rider with a free role to try to get the white jersey. |

I like the page! As a note it's going to take a large amount of creative work since there won't be 3d races to write about. But that also leaves you a very large amount for the imagination.

@Kentaurus: I guess it's still possible to fake it a little bit If one of my riders wins a bunch sprint, I'll just win my own and take a pic of it. And even if I don't win, I can still make pics of the training camps, for example. I'll just have to focus on the off-racing a bit more

Great preview so far. I think you should aim for a good GC rider for the Tour in round 4. |

I'll try my best. My #1 is a GC rider, the #2-4 are non-GC riders I probably won't get, and my #5-#10 are talented GC riders/climbers. If I'm really unlucky, I'll have to take Urán to the Tour. |

Most bump downs so far is 4 by a couple of teams. So expect one of the top 5!
