Its time for the crucial 83km Stage. It is mostly uphill and the riders have only been provided with one bottle. A big crash on Stage 5 took out many riders with the likes of Nicacio and Valjavec not looking too good.

Nippo's Japanese rider Arashiro attacks!!!
Tadej Valjavec has countered! As has Matzbacher and Bjelkmark.
Dont expect these attacks to be worth much as these guys need to conserve their energy or risk exploding later on.

Velits, Baliani, Sutton and Stenkjaer are the next to counter. Baliani is 43rd overall, 3'50 down and is 6th in the Continental Rankings.

Daniel Lloyd makes a move, as does Eduardo Gonzalo the Agritubel rider is 4th in the CT rankings.
Fertonani, Marquez, Wijaya and Tondo are also countering. We know that Tondo is injured though.

Landbouwkredit and Slipstream are setting the pace with Tondo caught already and Valjavec soon to be.
Baliani is the strongest attacker and the slope is rising already.

Stenkjaer, Velits, Sutton, Arashiro, Bjelkmark and Matzbacher are just 20 seconds infront of the peleton, which is oing by a fast Landbouw/Slipstream pace. Baliani has over a minute on E2!

Benoit Joachim takes over the Letua attack baton from Daniel Lloyd and powers past E2 towards Baliani. HealthNet's Agudelo has also made a move.

The 10 riders up front come together, but nobody is bothered about the sprint.
Landbouwkredit and Slipstream are setting a steadier pace now. Bajadali, Friedman, Huff, De Waele, De Greef, Moos and Galdos are the pace setters. Working for Raisin and Proni.

Baez and Fertonani make E1 13 riders as they have an 80 second gap to the pack. Benfica's Marquez is in the middle.
Andreas Frisch of Designa Kokken, 132nd Overall and Injured is the first man to be dropped. He's gonna struggle today!

9 of the 13 men in the break are working as Saul Raisin and his 3 protectors comes to the front of the peleton to assess the procedings. Landaluze and Noval have joined the pace setting for Landbouwkredit.

All 13 men are working now and their lead approaches 2 and a half minutes to the pack.
The 2nd sprint is again uncontestes and ironically it is the same top 3 in the same order.
