The main point is not the being checked up, but being brought back behind the team car. If they wouldn't be allowed to do that, they wouldn't take it so easy after a mechanical or crash.

I don't get all the fuss about those radios. If it's too dangerous not to race with them, why don't you compensate and just do it F1-style, allowing everybody to hear what you're saying? It's the only way to get rid of "backroom-management" while maintaining the current safety in the peloton. Or am I missing something? |

I know, but if they will not be allowed to do that, they will jump back on the bike to not loose time even with some maybe hidden injury, that is not good i think. Overall i dont see problem in it, when it is same for all and it would be stupid to loose the race because of mechanical. But i am not part of the peloton, so maybe someone have problem with this.

This is the part where i completly agree with Vaughters...
On the topic of banning drafting, Vaughters was adamant. "Crashes, punctures - they happen with regularity, but using a caravan, as it doesn't affect the outcome of the race... as long as you're just helping to give a rider a fair shot of getting back into the race, I have no problem with that.

Which neutral support could support all teams with the correct wheels and frames? The rims wouldn´t fit to the brake pads, there would be chaos with 10 and 11-gear wheels and and finally it´s nonsense to have riders on bikes that doesn´t fit them correctly.
