So, the Continental Tour moves onto Wales, with a stage race perfectly designed to make each stage more decisive than the last, with sprinting, time trialling and climbing all tested as the riders fight it out for every second available.
Bellis isn't here, leaving the race more open, but we will have the classic TT vs Hill battle here, with a ITT and a TTT against 2 hilly stages, one of which has an uphill finish.
On the TT side: Ignatiev, Reus, Schadlich, Boom and the home pairing of Stannard and Tennant.
On the hilly side: Di Maggio, Roy and Froome.
Let the battle commence.

Would really love to do some good here, but I think I overlooked the TTT completely. Still, Konovalovas could get a top 10 if all goes well, and Docker stands a chance on the flatter stage(s),

It's interesting as Di Maggio has been looking pretty strong against high class hilly men in the classics. However can he stay within touching distance of the guys with strong teams like Rapha and T.CS Bank.
Should be an unpredictable race, these hilly time trial races have been really random so far this season. Feel it is time for Ignatiev to actually win a race.

I'm kinda glad I brought Nicácio instead of LLS here. The course isn't selective enough and the TT are a bit short too.
It sort of depends on the influence of that 4th stage in the GC, but I believe it will be up for guys like Boom, Reus or Koren to hold the advantage to the pure puncheurs/climbers in the last stage.
This race is not one easy to predict. The line up is really solid and homogeneous and the route isn't very lumpy, so I'm crossing my fingers for my brazilian champ to grab a top10.

I expect a break to win. No, seriously. The TT'ers teams won't want to be dropped on the hills, and the hilly riders will be looking at each other rather than trying to win. Watch me be wrong. |

Either Elijzen gets a top 15 or so or I get a place in a winning break. Simple as that.

Just need Froome to be within touching distance ahead of the final stage really

Well that is less than desirable. Now... For the winning break!

The conditions must have changed drastically for VDV to beat Kono (and especially for Rabou to match Kono). I hope it doesn't affect the team's choice in leader, but at the same time, VDV could hang around and get a decent placing, too.

Never have seen such influence by wind in an ITT. Haven`t even known there is such a factor in PCM.
Funny to see Von Kleinsorgen being my strongest, then Velits and then Boom. Even on a pan flat time trial this would look funny, with the "climb" in the end even more funny.
Now I can just hope that Boom is trying something on the hilly stages and that my team will make a top3-5 TTT. |

I think it's a cool factor to be included, just a little frustrating if you get caught out by it.
However, it was quite windy in Wales yesterday (at least, where I am), whereas today it's glorious sunshine. Let's hope PCM matches reality's weather for the next stage

Definitely a nice point. Makes it more realistic.
Unlucky that Boom was one of the latest, but still having good chances to improve. |

Yeah this is quite frustrating. Nicácio on 40th place is kind of a catastrophe, I just hope he gets in the right breakaways and don't miss on decisive moves.
On the other hand it is very interesting to see such a feature being part of the Man-Game

DOOCKKEEERR!!
Guys, tell me I'm not dreaming? Excellent sprint from Docker, VDV in 4th, and my team actually did something throughout the day. Probably our best stage to date.
