Formerly the Eindhoven TTT, this race now takes place going from Danish Copenhagen to Swedish Malmo. The format remains the same though – a mostly flat TTT that will be a true test of who has the greatest depth in time trialists. There is a single climb of about 1.4km that maxes out at 11%, but isn’t really that steep most of the way up.
Unsurprisingly the biggest favourites are Jack Wolfskin. With Posthuma, Cornu, Gesink and Van Winden on board, who could look past them? They won this race last year and their train appears to be even stronger this year. This is a big goal for their team so they will be looking to perform.
Looking to challenge them are a handful of other teams, who might be considered chances for, if not necessarily the win, then certainly a podium place. Sony Ericsson are one of these teams. They have a deep list of time trialists, such as German national champion Lang, as well as Trofimov. Expect a strong ride.
Nestle are another team that really should be watched. They have some really strong time trialists like Fiedler, Mottin and Karpets, but their biggest problem will be that, apart from their handful of big name rouleurs, their extra men will struggle to help too much throughout the race. This lack of depth may hurt them, but that remains to be seen.
Coppel leads his Milka team here and will be hoping for a big result. Just like with Nestle, they lack a bit of depth, but their starts are bigger. Coppel could probably ride this faster on his own, to be honest, and he will probably be doing huge turns on the front. He should get some help from the likes of De Gendt and Kreuziger, however.
Another team who could pull out a surprising result are Festina. What they lack in start power they make up for in absolute depth. Bochman is the only man on their line up who isn’t already a superb time trialists, and even he isn’t too bad. Expect a great result from Festina, who can also take heart from the fact that there aren’t likely to be any crashes out on course.
There are a handful of other teams who could put in strong times, and it is entirely possible that we could see an upset tomorrow, particularly if the weather is a bit odd. We will go through each team in more detail when the race is being run. The starting order is as follows:
Pendleton’s Twicer
Milka – Vittel
Festina – Conec
Pearl Adidas
UBS – La Pierre
Jack Wolfskin
Cafe de Colombia
Vesuvio-Accumalux
Meiji – Fuji
Nestle Cycling Team

Hmmm, starting last, i actually like that. It's my strongest TT team bar Ricco. A top 5 might be possible with a bit of luck, will probably depends on the wind and form of the day.

Praying weather conditions deteriorate rapidly...
Could do quite well in this but they can be hard to predict. Apart from the winner. We all know the winner

We've done well so far in the TTT. Hope for a placing in the top half of teams close to top 5. Bit early going off for my liking - but suppose we're going off after a number of strong teams. |

Doesn't being first on the startlist mean you're the favourite? In that case why oh why am I the first on the startlist??

It doesn't seem to work that way for TTTs

What decides the startlist? 3rd off the ground is bad for us I reckon. I would much rather be among the last

Its completely random I think.
Yep, just opened up the race and got a different order altogether.

Alright. Is it also random which teams get the better odds of winning? Or is it just me who would normally fancy a late start?

The last few versions it was always the late starters who won.
This version appears to be a bit more forgiving based on Rogers beating other top TT-ers despite going off earlier at least two times this season. |

I should have the race up tomorrow. I am aiming to write the most detailed TTT report on this site, so it is all taking me a long time.

That was one of the most enjoyable TTT reports I've ever read
And happy to not finish last. Just unfortunate we nearly got caught at the end.

Rock solid report, great
And congratulations to Jack Wolfskin, after failing in Qatar, they're really proving themselves to be the strongest machine in a team time trial. |
