Im just back from 2 very long but awesome days at the London Olympic Velodrome. I think its fair to say that it was the biggest Track World Cup ever, so many of the best track cyclists turned up, and the entry lists for the events were much higher than usual.
Ive also taken so many photos. I think Doddy has aswell, since he was there on Sunday also and I could see him using his camera quite a bit
Where better to start, than with Keirin crashes? Both are from the Round 1 repechages on Saturday. When Im not sleeping the weekend off, Ill post up more pictures from these two crashes, as well as my best photos from across the 2 days of action. Im pretty pleased with how theyve come out, so I hope you all like them!

Great pictures. Haven't looked at the album yet, but I'm sure it will be good.
That bottom crash looks quite strange.

Theres only those two photos in the album right now. I only got home an hour ago, and Im about to go sleep!
I forgot to mention - but if there any events/riders anyone particularly wants to see pictures of. If they rode over the weekend, or if the event happened over the weekend, I will definately have photos, so can post up what Ive got.

Wasnt there on Friday, so no photos of Hester - I think the only Dane in action over the weekend was Casper Folsach in the Omnium, so I have photos of him.

Now uploaded all my photos from the Women's Sprint. Some close battles - particularly with Victoria Pendleton and Anna Meares, but Chinese rider Shuang Guo eventually won after beating Meares in the final.

The Womens Individual Pursuit is also fully uploaded.

Amazing pictures indeed. Looking like a fun time for you there.
Obviously I visit London for the wrong time in mid March, when there was track right now and Olympia later the season. |

Thanks! It was a really fun weekend, yes.
And I cant post without adding in some more pictures .
Focusing on the Bauge-Kenny rivalry, after the 2011 World Champs and the subsequent banning of Bauge - thus meaning Kenny now rides in the Jersey that Bauge initially won. They came head to head in the 5th-8th place matchup after Kenny lost to Levy, and Bauge lost to Hoy in a thrilling matchup.
Some pics of that 5th-8th place ride:
Also, on the Saturday - Im pleased with the angle I managed to get on the GB Team Pursuit team on a practice run. Had similar shots of the Aussies, but not uploaded them yet.

Nice pics. Watched quite a bit of it on TV and the TV people kept on banging on about it being an amazing atmosphere.
Certainly sounded that way. Some great racing on show too.
Keep on posting the pics. |

Atmosphere was brilliant yes, particularly when there was British involvement. You could barely hear yourself think at times of British victory.
And picture for this post, Kristina Vogel earning herself a relegation in the Keirin for moving into the Sprinters lane and impeding Jess Varnish (4 pics on Flickr showing the move from start to finish)

Wow, the 2 Team Pursuit photos are absolutely brilliant!
The angle, the colors, the light...everything fits together.

Yes, really happy with them. They were pressure shots aswell - came after the end of the first Saturday session, and although I had tickets for the second, everybody still had to leave the Velodrome. The Marshals were being all bitchy and those were the last 2 I took before reluctantly leaving.
Here's the Australian version:
And the Belgians getting up very close!

Really nice pics, Geoff and Marc
My favs are the GB pursuit by SN, and surprisingly the cool pic of the actual Olympic Velodrome by doddy!
And in doddy's womens Omnium shot, it looks like the riders are floating almost, cool shot too!
