It`s just some kind of motivation for yourself to play all modes and on higher difficulties.
Just like the XBOX/PS3 acchievments. |

But they can't really do that well either. At the moment thei are either way to easy or way to hard, there are also hardly any achievements at all.
They should have included more of them and had a bit more diversity. |

If I remember correctly there are many achievements but for different games (online, single race, career, ...) |

Yes, but if you compare to almost all other games there's quite a small number. |

Not quite shure, I don't have anyone right now. However, give me some time and I'm sure I could come up with some. |

Surely there could be many more. A few examples: win a specific number of sprint, mountain, youth or gc jereys with the same rider. Win specific numbers of World tour classics, win specific number of CHC races etc.
Win a specific number of team classification, win a specific number of total victories, reach a specific number of total points in World tour, Continental tour and overal classification for either individual riders or teams.
Win the same race with same team or rider a specific number of times in a row. Win a specific combinations of races within the same year with same rider or team. Sign a specific number of new riders. Win a stage in all different type of terrain with one rider within a year or carreer or do this with a team.
Carrying on like this will make you see that you could have plenty of new achievements. The upper ones I just came up with in a few minutes and most of them are probably as good as the one Cyanide came up with. |

If the game would be released on Steam, achievements would play bigger part, but now they are almost useless.

Well, to be fair, alot more then just the achievements are without any purpose. Everything about the game just screams "half way there". Take the goals set by sponsor, for example. Atleast before they had something to say, now it's just down right rubbish, |

Truly nothing imo, but some people really are 'in love with them', they buy games especially with achievements to get all of them, yea sounds crazy and it is.
Also on Steam random people playing the game or your friends can check out your achievements in nice list that you competed and, there are global achievements on all of achievements and % of how many people completed that each achievement, which is quite nice feature, and few more little details making it as a nice feature. Overall this adds more valour of the game. But for me the in - game achievements don't do that, adding that valour or as much as Steam could do.
One thing, dunno why but PCM 12 should be released on Steam, with Steam being the centre of sells for PC gaming, ahead of all of others competitors, more people would buy the game and and the game would have much wider audience.

Dont get me wrong, but i see achievements only as the new form of "Whose penis is bigger" classic.

For me achievements dont add anything to the game, I've never been interested in going out to actively get them. If I were to get one I simply think "Oh, well that's nice". |

On the PS3, I use them if I want to play but don't have a new game or cannot decide which game to play. I look in the list of achievements and then try to get one. This can also make you discover new stuff in the game.

Obviously one could also use it to boost the ego and I don't see anything bad in it if it makes him/her happy. Even if getting all achievements needs more google and youtube skills than gaming skills. |

I disagree about the game being on Steam. There have been lots of issues with Football Manager on Steam, and I know of many people who refuse to buy a game that requires Steam. Leave it as it is.
Even if someone has lots of achievements, how do you know that they didn't cheat to get them?
I'd be happy if the achievements actually did something in the game e.g. helped me get a better sponsor or helped me attract better riders. |
