The Tour of South Africa was a great race rankings wise for Rapha Condor, Red Bull and Bianchi, by far the strongest 3 of the 8 teams there. Well the next hilly South African stage race is the Tour de Boland, and we have 9 teams this time.
Tour of South Africa winner Jonathan Bellis will look to continue his success, with support from Alex Dowsett - who was 7th there. Jayco RB bring back ToSA Top-10ers Mori, Gerrans and Vorganov, but South African national champiuon Daryl Impey is a surprising absence - leaving it to Emu's Augustyn to fight for a home victory, while Bianchi are this time led by Rabon, not Monfort.
Theres two new big challengers though. Vuelta a Mallorca winner Samuel Sanchez, and GP di Lugano winner Aleksandar Flugel. These two could well take up the Top 2 GC positions, and should at least ensure a greater rankings points spread here!
Costa (CSC) and Bosisio (Vespa) will also hope to play a role, while Trilux may not be doing much other than making up the numbers.

I could see a break taking either stage two or three and then holding on for a high GC position.

This should be interesting. All the stages are relatively short, don't know whether that's in favour for the big favourites or breakaways. Should be a good race for the 9 teams in it, pointwise. Looking forward to a great battle for the overall win! |

I guess it should say that "while Bianchi are this time led by Rabon, not Monfort." as Bianchi can't lead Bianchi

Indeed. What you said is what I thought I was typing, my fingers clearly decided to rename Monfort to Maxime Bianchi

This will be an interesting race to watch. Team WWE could have gotten a top 10 place here, I think. At least with some luck. I hope that some of the underdogs win here.
Good luck, and good to see the season go on!

Hopefully this is a good race for us. Sanchez is a gc threat, Haedo looks the favorite to take stage 1, and depending on how difficult the 2nd stage is, Tolleson might be able to do something.

The only way i can get a decent result here is a breakaway. But i´m confident in PCM2011

Some big time early season winners are here, but I feel the Red Bull guys have a chance of upsetting the cyanide odds.
Impey is away working on his speed, unable to land a win so far and his hill climbing ability has been found wanting. He will try some flatter races soon.

Love this race when i had it in my career can definatly see a breakaway being the main brek of the tour and the winner coming from there Costa maybe could be allowed away so i'll go for him. |

Same here. I played this race twice in my Rapha - Condor carrier. All three times a rider form a succesive break won.
The last stage is awesome. A steep gravel climb. A break usually stays clear at this stage two.
Also, there is a sharp left-turn in the final if I am right? The rider who enter this bend first, wins the stage.

Just to point out, any past experience may be slightly different, because they were on the PCM10 Boland stage files - Mb only converted the race to PCM11 form yesterday.

The hill on the final stage is slightly easier than the 2010 version, as I am a better stage maker now, so it is no longer a triple peak at the top.
Apart from that it's the same.
