Stage 2:
Bordeaux- Souprosse
This stage is starting in Bordeaux and the rides are going south with the Pyrenees in sight. But they will not come as far today, so the chances are big for a mass sprint. |

Stage 3:
Montaut - Orthez
A new stage right to the north of the Pyrenees. It is flat also today, and the small hills in the middle of the stage will not destroy the chances for a new mass sprint.
Sprint: Pau
Categorized climbs: Cote du Lahitte (4), Cote du Lamajou (4), Cote de Baleix (4) |

Stage 4:
Dax - San Sebastian
A new stage ending in a mass sprint. The stage is starting in Dax, and the riders are going south to the Pyrenees, over two smaller mountain passes and back to the coast at the spanish border, ni San Sebastian. If the pace is hard in the hills, the weakest climbers can meet problems, but still it won't be big enough gaps to avoid a mass sprint.
Sprint: Doneztebe
Categorized climbs: Col de Patatouch (4), Collado de Izpegi (2), Puerto de Ezkurra (3) |

Stage 5:
Aubenas - Le-Puy-en-Velay
The first hard stage in the Tour is here, but not in the Pyrenees. The stage will go through the southern parts of the Massif Central from Aubenas to Puy. There are no extreme climbs on the stage, but anyway it will be big gaps
Sprint: Le-Puy-en-Velay
Categorized climbs: Col de L'Escrinet, Mont Mezenc, Cote de Montbonnet, Cote de Cayres

You should make a stage go true Cotignac, amazing landscape there!

Stage 6:
Le-Puy-en-Velay - Thiers
The second and last stage in the Massif Central doesn't have the same long mountains as yesterday, but a hard finish in Thiers will definitely make problems for weaker riders. A stage when everything can happen. |

Stage 7:
Vichy - Vierzon
The riders are out of the Massif Central, and a new flat stage awaits. The stage does not contain many problems for the cyclists, and the climbers are still waiting for their chances. |

Stage 8:
Vierzon - Nouan-le-Fuzelier ITT
A time trial stage is the next challenge for the riders. The only ordinary time trial in the Tour is long and flat, and a rider like Joaquim Rodriguez can maybe lose the Tour even before the mountains. |

Stage 9:
Saint-Malo - Alencon
The Tour continues to the north and is now as north as it could be, in Bretagne. The riders are going east from Saint-Malo to Alencon.
Sprint: Domfront
Categorized climbs: Cote du la Source du Haut, Cote du Saint-Martin, Cote du Livaie |

Stage 10:
Alencon - Beauvais
The stage will start in yesterday's finish city, Alencon. Then it will make its way east. There are not any long climbs on the stage, but some small climbs with over 10 % will, together with the wind, make the stage rather tough.
Sprint: Evreux
Categorized climbs: Cote de la Ferriere, Cote du Glisolles, Cote du Normanville, Cote d'Ortier, Col du Harquency |

Stage 11:
Bruxelles - Saint-Vith
A stage where you can lose the Tour, definitely. Contains several hills from the Liege-Bastogne-Liege, and the 11 hills on the stage will make great differences.
Sprint: Andenne
Categorized climbs: Lots of them!
For you who will not have the stage in this variant, I will make an alternative stage, but that is not completely finished.

Stage 12:
Thionville - Sarrebourg
The 12th stage in the Tour will take the riders to the south beside the border to Germany in Alsace. It is the last stage before the mountains and therefore the sprinters probably will use one of their last chance for a stage win.
Sprint: Dieuze
Categorized climbs: Dalstein, Cote du Croix Callin, Col du Donon |

Stage 13:
Sallanches - Grenoble
Finally the moutains are here. The climbers have waited a long time, and maybe they must wait even longer, for todays stage will probably not be crucial for the GC. Chamrousse is a hard climb, but from the top there are many kilometres downhill to the finishing line in Grenoble. We can expect a small group with GC-Competitors, maybe with a breakaway in front. But if Samuel Sanchez has lost time on an earlier stage this could be the time to get it back.
Sprint: Albertville
Categorized climbs: Col du Combloux, Mont Carmel, Col du Cratere, Col du Pipay, Chamrousse |
