Welcome to the adventures of the hottest prospect in African cycling, Daniel Teklehaimanot, as he hopes to rise up the ladder of professional cycling.

For 2011, Daniel will ride in the African Continental Cycling team, led by the experienced Dan Craven, riding all over the World in a hope to impress a ProContinental or ProTour team for 2012.

It`s a nice team for a story. I suppose you added many small races for your team?

Nah, just taking what the PCMdaily DB has to offer. Langkawi is first up.

Then it`s a really hard project racing against good teams in most races.

You are now the coolest person ever Smile

At some point I expect you to win the Tour de France or a Monument though, although I'll cut you some slack in the first season Pfft

I almost did a story about him for PCM 10 too.

Definitely putting this story on my list of stories to follow. Really hope to see the team succeed, partly because I was exploring the idea of doing something similar to your story. Hopefully the team can become successful enough to enjoy a long stay in pro cycling. Then if the story lasts long enough perhaps you can bring through some of the exciting African prospects that may appear during your game.

Can't wait for the season to begin and to see how you do, likely a lot better then I do as I am one heck of an up-and-down PCM DS.

I have a career where Taklehaimanot rides as a leader of HTC in 2014, he developed very good (77 average, second only to Van Garderen) so I'm hoping he does for you also. Best of luck!

If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord will delete my browser history.

Shame. Still, should be an ace story, love this guy. Is it possible to change teams (with an editor) in pcm11.

Daniel Teklehaimanot makes his season debut, along with the team, with Craven, the Chabanes, Jennings and Janse van Rensburg.

The first 3 stages were sprints, and Teklehaimanot did his best to follow wheels at the finish, Craven having more success on Stage 2 in earning the team's first continental rankings points. While on Stage 3, the breakaway, including Jennings was unfortuante to only be caught in the final sprint.

Stage 4

Now for the first of the two more interesting stages, and Daniel is keen to see how far he can go, sticking with the best here - with plenty of good Movistar and Astana climbers racing up to Cameron Highlands.
www.pcmdaily.com/images/tekle-lang2.jpg

Jacques Janse van Rensburg went into the breakaway. He didnt feature in the sprints or small KoM, but took 2nd on the first of the big climbs, nabbing a nice €250 for the team. The Movistar led peloton came over 2 minutes later, down to 47 riders, and still Daniel was feeling good, with Craven, and Hichem Chabane still in there, although not looking as good.
www.pcmdaily.com/images/tekle-lang3.jpg

The pace continued onto the other hard climb of the day, the break being wiped out, Craven and Chabane being dropped, and 7 ProTour attackers getting away. Daniel unable to move with any attacks, but sticking with the ever reducing peloton comfortably enough.
www.pcmdaily.com/images/tekle-lang4.jpg

The front 7 contested the victory, Pablo Lastras proving to be in excellent form here, with Daniel achieving 15th place on the stage, in a 25 man group also containing Janse van Rensburg. He now holds 13th overall.

Stage 5

Cameron Highlands was one thing, Genting Highlands is an altogether different beast
www.pcmdaily.com/images/tekle-lang5.jpg

Craven went in the break, but it went for little on the climb itself. The break swiftly caught, and the pace very tough. No heroics from Daniel this time, just pure suffering

41st on the stage, losing 11'18, clinging on to a Top 30 overall spot
