I also had the problem with the third stage of the Tour of Britian. The easiet way to solve it is to go to CM_stages in C/porgrams/Cyanide/PCM11 and search for 2010_t1_britain_03_doddy.

There are two files, one .cds and one .zces. Delete both and then copy e.g. the two stage two files and rename from 2010_t1_britain_02_doddy to 2010_t1_britain_03_doddy.

You have to identical stages then, but i works.

CrueTrue wrote:Concerning the 2014/2015 bug: That sounds quite serious. PCM has always been quite unstable on that date, but obviously, when it happens "permanently" it's a rather serious bug.

Unfortunately, it's also one of those bugs that are difficult to fix, since it's not really logical why it would crash between 2014 and 2015 when it doesn't crash between 2011/2012, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014.

In order to fix it, I'm going to need save-games. You can find them in My Docs/PCM/Users/Your Username/Database/Solo/Name of DB/

Also, please attach some of the WeeklySaves from October (My Docs/PCM/Users/Your Username/Database/WeeklySave).

Thanks.

Going from 31/12/2013 to 01/01/2014 makes the game crash. It's not a random crash, as the game won't load afterwards, and happens with all weeklysaves I have tried so far. (December saves only)

I think the problem stem from stage two of criterium dauphine in 2013 (variant 3, "2010_top_dauphine_02_cyanide" ). The stage has invalid length in the STA_stage table, so the game refuses to process the stage. It just skips the stage and goes to the next event.

Then at the end of the season, when the STA_stage table is updated for the coming season, the unprocessed stage is still left in in the table (on a date from last season), causing the game to crash.

Edit: After loading up a backup from before that dauphine stage, changing the stagelength to a valid one (and replaced the stage with one I knew worked), I was able to process the stage and go from 31/12/2013 to 01/01/2014, so it does indeed seem like this was the problem.

Edit 2, should be STA_stage

can you explain how exactly did it please? if i rename the stage 2010_tp_dauphine_02_cyanide.cds and .zces with any other stage of dauphine, it will work?

No, that won't work as the stage length will still be invalid in STA_stage

What I did was:
1) Found a backup from before stage 2 of Dauphine
2) Opened the database with an editor
3) Found the STA_sage table and located the faulty stage (the one where gene_f_distance is noted as "-1.#INF" )
4) Changed gene_f_distance to a valid value and linked the stage (changed gene_sz_stage_filename ) to a stage I knew worked.

For simplicity I basically just duplicated the next dauphine stage (linked to that stage, and changed all relevant stage values to match that stage)

Hope that helps.

All the regions of scouting in Germany have riders with Fight, Sprint. This can't be totally correct can it? Feels like Bavaria for example should have more climbers..

What if someone before he gets into season 3 already copied 2010_dauphine_03_cyanide .cds and zces file and renamed those copies to 2010_dauphine_02_cyanide .cds and zces ?

I checked the 2010_dauphine_02_cyanide.cds file with Cyanide's Race Data Viewer and indeed the distance is wrongly set in that file...

fbgh80 wrote:what editor do u use? can u explain a little more point 4, please? i mean, a valid value i guess is a number/km like the other of this column, but, what do u mean by "change gene_sz_stage_filename to a stage you know works"? what name u used?
last question: what savegame u use to edit this parameter? the savegame of solo folder, or weekly savegame? doesn't matter which i use?
thanks a lot.

It's a fairly simple change, so I just used the PCM Fast Editor, but more or less any editor should work fine.

I knew the stage 3 of that Dauphine worked, so I changed "gene_sz_stage_filename" for stage 2 from "2010_top_dauphine_02_cyanide" to "2010_top_dauphine_03_cyanide".

Then I changed the stage parameters to fit that 3rd stage. That meant setting "gene_f_distance" to be "170,01271057128906", "fkIDstage_type" to "1", fkIDrelief to "2" and gene_f_mountain to "0,14510440826416016".

I'm only in 2012, but I'm quite worried with this bug. Is that manual fix 100% safe? Can I only apply it when the bugged year arrives?

felix_29
When you replace all bugged stage files in the folder C/programs/caynide/PCM2011/CM_stages in 2012 , there won´t be any bugs in the following years. Once you are in 2013, you have to edit STA_stage with an editor, same for 2014 (only when you didn´t replace the bugged stage files)
If you do everything right, none of the stages will cause a crash.

Will it work if i replace the bugged stage files with one that is working before i start a career?

felix_29
That will also work fine.

Edit: Just make sure that you replaced all bugged stages.

Ok, again:

- You haven´t reached year 2013 yet or didn´t start a carrer
--> go to C/programs/caynide/PCM2011/CM_stages and replace the bugged stages with working ones

- You are in year 2013/2014
--> open your savegame with an editor, follow the description you find somewhere in this thread

I hope this helpsWink

Here`s the fix for the Cyanide stages.
https://www.multiu...05M4GYL2SC

So just Doddy`s 3rd Britain stage must be changed then.

Just copy all files into the CM_Stages folder.

Fix for Stage 3 of the Tour of Britain

As I am geting there in my career and did not like the solution that you have to rename stage 2 with the name of the stage 3) I decided to make the stage "from scratch". It is very simple with no "dual roads" or roundabouts or other fancy things, even though I'm a little rusty in these wanderings, I haven't made stages for PCM for some years now, but it is functional, with sprints and mountain premiums based on the real stage. I haven't tested ingame, but have visualized it with the stage viewer of the game, and in my career I have been able to access the profile of the stage without the game crashing anymore. Just extract the two files and replace the ones which are inside the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2011\CM_Stages"

Hmm, not sure if this is a bug, but teams that change sponsors (I.e. Radioshack) still ride with their fixed equipment (I.e. radioshack helmets etc.).

Is this fixable in some way, or is it just something that we should live with? Smile

CrueTrue
It was only a matter of time before someone mentioned it Wink

It was a difficult choice. On one hand, you want the teams to use as realistic equipment as possible. On the other hand, the most realistic equipment can't be "made" using the Custom Colours function that the game comes with.

In future DBs, teams will only use auto-colour equipment.

Anyway, for now, you can change it in DYN_team. There's three equipment-related columns with numbers. These numbers can be found in STA_equipment -> fkIDequipment_marques.

In Spain ITT Championship the last year the 2nd position was Jose Ivan Gutierrez. In the game is David Gutierrez.
Fix it TrueCrue please!

CrueTrue the last suggestion, I think is better Challenge Vuelta a Mallorca instead of Vuelta a Mallorca
