Dutch Eredivisie 2011-12
MitchNL
This season will be very interesting. Can Feyenoord recover under Ronald Koeman? Who takes the European spot after the play-offs? Can Co Adriaanse win the title with FC Twente, or will Ajax or PSV win 'de Schaal'?
And who will be relegated to the Jupiler League? Everything will be decided between 5 August and 6 May!

It's Boilesen. You should at least know the name of your countryman. Wink

Ajax will win of course, but it will be close once again between PSV and Twente. I don't think Feyenoord can do any better than last season, but I hope they do.

Utrecht? Zero chance, who voted for them?

MitchNL
Don't talk about the RKC vote, then. Smile

The Roda vote comes from me, I'm a Roda supporter Grin

Without nonsense, I think the title again goes to Ajax, because, well, I've seen enough at the Johan Cruijff Schaal. Twente couldn't put up a good attack, and 9 out of 10 balls that keeper Mihaylov kicked out, went to Ajax. Also, Theo Janssen is at a higher level than Wout Brama or Kevin Strootman, to give an example of how good Ajax this season is.

Hope that Roda goes into Europe, and RKC relegates.

Ajax seems, once again, to have the better team, this year they bought Theo Janssen and Sigthorsson, and they also have some interesting players such as El Hamdaoui, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Van der Wiel. Now, let's see if they can prove it with the title. Wink

Just wondering how will the keepers do this season, after Stekelenburg's sale.

FC Twente did win the JC Cup, but Ajax was the far better playing team.
can't see them lose this season, even if PSV have strengthened themselves considerably

And he also missed the fact that there's another Dane, Viktor Fischer.

There is nothing wrong with Kenneth Vermeer. Ajax will get along fine.

LIVE REPORT: EXCELSIOR - FEYENOORD

The Eredivisie 2011-12 starts with a Rotterdam derby: Feyenoord with new trainer Ronald Koeman goes to the Woudestein stadium, with a capacity of 3.527 the smallest stadium in the Eredivisie, to take on Excelsior. Last year, Excelsior surprisingly won at home against Feyenoord with 3-2. Funny detail: Feyenoord bought 4 Excelsior players this summer transfer window.

Can Excelsior surprise us again, or will Feyenoord be the first Eredivisie leader?

EXCELSIOR 0-2 FEYENOORD (full time)

Team line-ups:
Excelsior:
GK Wesley de Ruiter
RB Daan Bovenberg
CB Leen van Steensel (Own goal '70)
CB Norichio Nieveld
LB Samuel Scheimann
CM Niels Vorthoren
CM Roland Alberg ('89 Mick van Buren)
CM Joost Broerse
RW Tim Vincken
ST Mitchell te Vrede ('72 Darren Maatsen)
LW Jason Oost ('78 Kevin Jansen)

Feyenoord:
GK Erwin Mulder
RB Kelvin Leerdam
CB Stefan De Vrij (Yellow card '60)
CB Ron Vlaar
LB Kaj Ramsteijn
CM Karim El Ahmadi ('72 Kamohelo Mokotjo)
CM Jordy Clasie ('82 Ricky van Haaren)
CM Leroy Fer
RW Jerson Cabral
ST Guyon Fernandez (Goal '55)
LW Sekou Cissé (Yellow card '45) ('66 Ruben Schaken)

Well, that were some weird matches. 4 red cards in 4 matches, 2 matches going from 2-0 to 2-2 in 5 minutes and a match going from 0-1 to 2-1 in 10 minutes.

Some say that the Eredivisie is a Mickey Mouse-competition, this day proves that the Eredivisie is spectacular for players, trainers and (especially) fans.

Well, the Eredivisie is far from what it once was. We always used to have 1 or 2 teams getting very far in Europe, but that's over. There's a big chance Ajax will be the only team playing the Champions League as Twente is up against Benfica.

You are right, in the beginning of this century we had PSV in the CL semi-finals, now we are happy with PSV and Twente reaching EL quarter-finals...

Remembers me of the good time in 2002 that Roda had beaten AC Milan in the UEFA Cup Round of 16 at San Siro... lost on penalties after that, but still we managed to beat AC Milan in San Siro...
