Tour de France 11 Stage 10 Aurillac > Carmaux 158km
doddy13
Le Tour de France 2011
Stage 10: Aurillac > Carmaux 158km

Stage info (from cyclingnews.com)
A short stage follows the rest day as the race continues south through the Cévennes. Although rolling, there are no outstanding difficulties on today's route and that should benefit the sprinters. One factor that might come into play is the intense heat that can affect this region. Another might be the growing desire for teams that have not made an impact so far to do so on one of the two remaining stages before the race reaches the Pyrenees. Regardless of the heat of both the day and the competition, this should be a day dominated by the green jersey contenders.

A breakaway with bad placed riders in the GC, will proberbly go in. Unless Gilbert wants more points for the jersey.

Hope for Hushovd to do a great comeback after the loss of the yellow jersey Grin

Jerome Pineau. It must be about time for him to make a move. Is he injured or what?

What do you guys think? Breakaway or Sprint?

Logghje
I think it's going to be a small group sprint, without Cavendish, Farrar, Petacchi, Greipel & all the other flat sprinters, but with Gilbert, Rojas (although he wasn't good yesterday) & maybe Boasson Hagen.. But I've no idea who will win it.. No breakaway, because Gilbert wants to keep the green jersey Smile He can take lots of points, and Cavendish, Evans & maybe Rojas won't take much points..

Thomas
Sprint with all the favorites. They should recover well on that downhill to the cat.4 hill. Even Cavendish should be able to get his popo over that one.

After watching the highlights of yesterday's stage:

Am I the only one who noticed Contador's expression of pure pain and the fact that he was pedalling VERY unevenly? There's no way that knee isn't still injured.

But they would also want the race to be as tough as possible then, in order to shake Cavendish and Rojas.

I noticed it too, and apparently, our perception is spot on:

I get the feeling Schleck will walk this. Contador is nowhere near in top condition

I'm hoping Evans can stop him, but I'm afraid that it's as unlikely as Andrew racing for more than 4 weeks per year.

Then it would be a terrible Tour.

I don't think Contador will be in too much trouble, unless he crashes again. Today in total relaxation... And then tomorrow and the day after in a fairly easy terrain (For him).
