Gameplay Video

Review

Guys, I don't know if it was posted already, but here is a gameplay video.

I'm sorry to say, but the game looks a bit crappy, at least to me. I probably won't buy it, but I seriously hope that Cyanide can give us a great cycling game for consoles in the future.

There was a news posting about it...Well, assuming it is the same one, as the link you posted is a dud.

Wow, you would expect the guy posting the video winning the stage Pfft Looks like track on the road to me. And thats now worth the amount of money they are asking for it.

I doesn't look too bad. Hopefully enough people will buy it to warrant an improved sequel, as, unfortunately, this has "flop" written all over it.

Can you be a bit more specific? I can't wait to play it.

Well, it would have had "flop" written all over it, before they even thought of making it. It'll be a niche title however good it is.

I can't wait to play it too. My computer is not able to run PCM 11 so I've to buy it on the console when I want to play it. I think, with this new video wich looks amazing, it is going to be a perfect game!

Give some arguments, why is it boring? It is so easy to say : 'This is boring' 'It's a stupid game'.

Here is well.. another "review" I grabbed up:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyWuV8...yWuV85bo6Q
But as a warning, it contends someone who hates cycling but still buys the game and says it's bad..
Well if I would hate American Football why would I buy Madden NFL and make a hate review? I don't get it, is it fun? I don't think so

I think what I see is that the control of a rider isn't more like on a racing game but more like the track cycling mode.. Maybe I am wrong but thats for me disappointing as some dynamic of the game is out because it would feels like riding on railroads like PCM track cycling..

I think Konami made it more like a racing game while other parts (what I've heard) are "bad"

Well, when I turn off the sound and I stick to the gameplay it looks awesome not?
I like it, the crash was realistic because he hits the border.

Yes I want to play... Grin

the game is crappy, the gameplay is good
has no options,just sound options
you see the blue transparent sections?just that sections are playable
so a stage of 200 km you will play maxim 60 km.you play an less km,about 40 km.
1 km virtual it take like an real 1km on bike(if you are a pro)
after there are just 21 stages, they cuted and you play like a 20% from all tour

@BuzzingFridge buy it you and support this game

I don't think so, i think that a lot people see the game when they walk into a game store. People that don't follow Cyandie and so on. And they pick it up because it looks interesting.

Keep in mind that we are if different parts of the world. Scandinavians might find cycling interesting, but I highly doubt it will sell in countries like the US, UK and Australia. Some fans of the series, like myself, won't be interested in it, because we view it as more of a gimmick rather than a fully-fledged game. Sales performance will heavily depend on price, too. If it's retail price is similar to that of an indie-downloadable game, it could probably sell well. But I can't see people spending the same amount of money on this as they would on a proper PS3 title.

@superider2010 I don't have a PS3, so I won't be buying it.

Sorry guys for screwing up with the video link. It's fixed now.

Well after watching the review video I don't think the game looks so bad. I might even buy it when it gets a cheaper price.

IMO they should sell the game on PSN or Xbox Live. They could sell much more games that way.

You can hardly call that a "review".

Recieved the game today and just played a couple of single stages.

First impression is actually rather positive. I enjoyed playing one of the mountain stages where I eventually ended in a situation with Porte destroying the peloton with me (Contador) right behind him. It actually felt kind of realistic. Chris Anker - which I had sent in a solo breakaway from the beginning of the stage - won with 3 minutes down to a group with Millar, Luis Leon and the likes... I came in 2-3 minutes in after that group and 30 seconds in front of the other favorites. I felt entertained and surprised. I can see there's a user who questioned the way the stages are ridden and that you only are able to ride in 3-4 parts of the stage.

Listen, you ride the first 5-10 km - then simualtion - riding 5-12 km - simulation and then eventually riding the final part.
This is actually a very good way of solving this 1:1 scale thing. I mean, the mountain stage took me over and hour to finish. It's stupid to think that it would be better to ride more kilometres - it would simply kill the game totally.

The movement reminds me of track in PCM - If that's a good or a bad thing I don't really know. The most annoying part of this game is definitely the camera angles. Extremely limited. You can barely look behind you and your overview is rubbish. You are not able to see how many riders the group consist of if you are in front of the group - it actually felt kind of claustrophobic at times. Painfully annoying.

Also, if you control a rider who is supposed to attack in the final part of the stage to win it (which would be quite often..) you really don't have anything to do in those early parts of the stage where you are riding. You can send a team mate out to attack or relay and that's pretty much it.. Thankfully it simulates doing the stage to the important places like individual sprints.

All race informations go through the team radio. Works alright but could have been much better. I know a rider in the real world can't be aware of the time gaps all the time between the groups in front of him but the interface really has to be easier for the player. You have to ask the team car to get a time in every single occasion.

And finally the music. As you might expected - it's absolutely horrible. The commentator is the same as we know from the PCM series. He is also the voice of the rider and team car when speaking through radio. That means Contador has a british accent - that can't really piss me of though.

Haven't played the game enough to give a overall rating at this point. How the AI behaves in the Tour De France game (I've only played single stages) is interesting. Reaction of the riders to get mountain points during the stages or how the alliances work - if they even make sence.. I'm a bit worried that you can't make a huge impact in races and the variation of the results could be very limited with no surprises at all.
You'd think they had - in one way or another - used the same AI as in PCM.
