First, I think 2011 is the best PCM in its' history! Full marks to the creators!
I want to play a single season to learn the game before starting a career. I get a red circle x "Runtime error" after I choose the team I want to play. Same place, every time. I have tried different teams, rebooted my pc, and searched the forums.
Any suggestions are appreciated,
Thanks |

I have the same problem. Do you get a C++ run-time error? Sometimes a get a run-time error and some times the game just hangs - after a while I hit a key and then the game just shuts down completely.

Yes! Same error. It's a red circle w/ a x in the message. I wish i could find an answer. I would like to play a full season before starting my career. I know it's easy to start a new career at any time, but I paid full price and should be able to use all the game modes!
If you find an answer, StefanG, please keep me informed.
Ps I used a download manager and have had no respone from emails to gamesplanet

I remember that several people reported the same problem with PCM10 last year. You should contact Cyanide to get them to look into the issue (not the support - Cyanide). |

Yep, mine is an ATI Radeon 3650 AGP card. Cyanide support instructed me to update my graphics drivers. I did so, using the link they provided, but unfortunately, it installed a driver labeled VisionTek Radeon HD 2600 XT AGP. Consequently, after installing/upgrading, I still get the run-time error.
Waiting for another response from Cyanide to see if they have any other ideas. Everything seems to work fine, unless I try to start a season. |

Same here, I had the same problem for PCM10 as well. So I'm hoping they can come up with a solution this year.

I reverted back to my old driver, now I'm going to download every version of the ATI Radeon 3600 AGP series one at a time and test it before moving on to the next one. Maybe one will work. I'll let you know .
P.S. I had the same problem with PCM 2010 as well, never got it working, but didn't try very hard to resolve it. |

Unsuccessful. I've tried every ATI Radeon 2k/3k/4k series AGP driver and all fail (resulting in the MS visual c++ run-time error). And strangely enough, starting in 2010, the driver changes to VisionTek HD Raden 2000XT AGP. So, either AMD/ATI screwed up and didn't actually include a driver for the 3k/4k AGP series and that's what's causing the problem, or PCM 2010/11 Season option just doesn't work with the ATI AGP cards. I suspect the latter.
Hopefully I've missed something and Cyanide will respond with another resolution idea. |

This happens to me on 2010. IT usually happens after a while though, and a restart of the game allows me to continue. Just pray that it doesn't happen in the middle of the race! I am running an 500mB NVIDIA gForce 9000. It has only started with me since that latest drivers upgrade, though I did a lot of other things at that time

I've got an ati radeon also. In both '11 and '10 I can't do season mode. I am planning on starting a career once the pcm daily db gets released, but in the mean time I wanted to play a season with Garmin-Cervelo or something just to have something to do while I wait. |

I've noticed that it actually creates the season.cdb database; however, you can't load it, so it looks like all of the tables weren't updated appropriately before it "errors out".
Would someone who can start a season be willing to start a season and upload the .cdb? Preferrably start a season via the draft option, choose option for 20 cyclist on team, just choose the top rated cyclist by overall average when its your turn. I'd like to see if I can make some minor updates the database to see if I can load and manipulate it. Thanks in advance. |

I did not read the whole thread but seeing that it is a unsolved problem, you might get more help in the official forum (or at least raise the attention about this problem):

Patch 1.0.4.4 has fixed this Season issue (at least for me). Maybe that was one of the "fixes for custom teams" as listed in the readme. |

Custom team is not the same as season mode.
Maybe they forgot to mention the fix or it happened accidentally. |
