PCM 2007 graphics problems

is it just me? or have the graphics in this year's version become crappier?
in 2006, we had bloom effects, and half decent lighting and shadows... i know bloom annoys some people, but it makes the blurry textures in PCM look better...
this year, the lighting and shadows are horrendous and the shader 2 effects are gone... the graphics i'm getting in-game are not even CLOSE to how they look in the official screenshots.
here are the screens from my game:
exhibit A
look at the shadows on the ground, they're all blocky and unsmooth.
exhibit B
look at the legs of the riders, the shadows are all messed up and splotchy around the knees and arms.

what gives? i have a half decent computer and i've set all graphic options to maximum... i've tried 4xAA, but the setting doesn't stay. it always changes back to NO AA. i've even tried 6xAA and it STILL looks like the above. i've set 6xAA at the driver level as well, with no results.
also, why does the computer load textures for every rider (before the race, "cyclist texture XX/YY" ) if the one texture per rider feature doesn't exist anymore?
i'm not a big graphics freak. but it kind of annoys me that the game seems to be taking steps BACKWARDS in this department.
here are my specs, if it will help anyone help me fix this:
opteron 165
2GB RAM
ATi radeon X1950XT 256MB
running PCM07 downloaded version 1.0.2.0

There's a box in the options named "force graphic options". Tick it and try adjusting your graphic settings again. |

How did Cyanide break the shaders? On my computer, in 2.0/High, its all very dark and veeeeery slow.

sadly, i've already tried that.... i've tried different resolutions, different AA and texture settings, both driver level, and application level. sigh... |

to be honest i think the graphics are ok, they aren't the best but i guess i prefer the management part to the graphics

i haven't updated my ATi drivers in a while, but they're are rock solid on all the popular games. i doubt ATi will make a driver fix for a small game like this anyways. besides, i see from the posted screenshots that other people seem to have normal graphics. i'll try updating the drivers anyways though....

i prefer the management to graphics as well... but sometimes i like to zoom in and watch the little men suffer... these gfx flitches really take away from that joy,  |

hello,
I don't know what is the best setting for the shadow in PCM2007.
but It is sure that you can change the quality of the shadow a little, with GraphicConfig.xml.
here are sample images and their settings.(patch 1.0.2.0)
(of course I know there aren't good settings for everyone...these settings might crash your PCM sometime. so don't expect so much.)

Hi!
I have to say that I get the same crappy shadows with my GFX card (ATI X1950 Pro) and the AA doesn't seem to work as it should 
My specs:
Intel Core2 Duo E6600 (overclocked @ 3 GHz)
2GB DDR2-800
ASUS ATI X1950 Pro
ASUS P5B+
Running PCM 1.0.1.0 because I have already started an story and with the new patch the game becomes really slow when in full-screen
Perhaps it's something related to the ATI X1950 series... I've told Cyanide about this before the 1.0.2.0 patch, but they haven't fixed it and it looks like they don't care about it...  |
