It's the pinnacle U23 race on the calendar - open to all riders who are aged 22 under less at the time of the race, so August 2011.
The former winners list is impressive: Gesink, Pluchkin, and Phinney. And then theres riders who have battled for victory: Intxausti, Uran, Abal, Henao Montoya.
But who will ride it?
Well in the spoiler is the list of all eligible riders, and the teams to whom they are affiliated. (A few continental riders, who would have been eligible, are riding in Pendle, Plouay or Ireland, so won't be here). Also, as Taylor Phinney has already won this race, he is no longer eligible for it.

Basically, if you want to ride the race submit your team below. Only the Top 5 teams from the U23 Division are guaranteed a slot, the rest I will judge based on strength - and these teams will be joined by at least 1 Free Agents team.
For riders with 2 potential teams: As far as Im concerned, either team has an equal right to select that rider. If only one team wants him, great - if you both want him, you'll need to agree amongst yourselfs and then come to a decision.
Teams can range from 1-9 riders. But if you feel your team would be too small, but still want your riders in it, you can also nominate them to ride for a free agents/national team.

What about riders for teams of inactive managers?
It would be a shame for riders like Bobridge and Sagan to miss out just down to inactivity of their managers!

I would be happy to select a team: my 6 mini-Santander riders and Madrazo and Tenorio, however, as Madrazo and Tenorio are the 2 biggest favourites, should Lafarge or Festina claim one I would be fine with that

For the sake of the race, those 2 need to be in separate teams. Id suggest it probably best if you took Tenorio, as SotD is very likely to want to field a team here, while if Tenorio was at Lafarge, he would not have much in the way of support.

Following what looks like it will be an active (but just short of the top five) performance in the U23 division Red Bull would like to continue with a Antipodean style squad for the Tour de L'Avenir.
We have some pending issues with our proposed roster:

Haavardsholm cant ride, you put him in Ireland. Youve got 3 of your U23 squad if you want them.

There's one thing i haven't figured out yet: are the riders being listed as being from another team actually loaned riders that people are including? Or are we able to use riders from different teams (like for example, Pearl using portuguese FAs to fill up the squad or using riders from Lipton, Nespresso or Energie if they don't want to race)?
Sorry if it's implied somewhere and I haven't figured it out.

Riders in the post that have 2 teams by their name have 2 teams by their name because they are a rider who is loan from Team A to Team B this season.
If you have less than 6 U23 riders I dont mind free agents being found to boost the squad but thats it.
Its not a list where you pick who you want from whichever team.
