Lots of fun guesses for 2010 (let me once again remind you that I got all my TdF guesses correct!) - and now it's time for the 2011 thread. Point? See below.

Since we do this topic every year (and it's always funny as heck to go back and re-read it a year later ), here it is again. Post anything at all you feel will happen in 2010. Who's going to suck, who's going to do well, etc. |

Andre Steensen going to do well. Same with Michael Mørkøv. Rojas Gil will win a stage in the TDF.
Menchov fails.

Contador gets a three-month ban, announces he is retiring, then returns and wins all three GT's in the greatest Fuck You year in sports history.
Boonen ties De Vlaemnick, Cancellara wins all the other major spring classics (De Ronde and MSR especially).
Vino puts up a top 3 in a GT and wins an Ardennes Classic.
Schleck disappoints in the Tour, decides to start the Vuelta for revenge, loses to Contador.
Voigt gets one last crazy solo 150+ km breakaway victory in a GT.
Menchov gets caught. Sastre takes a top 3 at a GT though and keeps Geox around.
Lance pulls a Brett Favre, starts the Tour, doesn't finish it.
Cunego wins Lombardia and finally accepts he'll always win it and nothing else.
Ricco gets caught again, the UCI says fuck it and finally implements a lifetime ban.
There is a big Italian doping scandal at the Giro.
Team Type 1 folds halfway through the season.
Kelly destroys on the US domestic circuit.
I'll come back with more.

Nibali fails at everything next year. Showing that the Vuelta win was just a fluke. |

Agree on that
Schleck is gonna win the tour in the absence of Contador... He wins the maillot jaune from Evans who stars crying when he realises he´s gonna be 2nd again.
Cancellara will not win the TT worldchampionship
Contador gets banned for the first 3 months, but he doesnt participate at the tour because Saxo Bank wont be allowed at the tour as a result of Contadors dpoing affair (Happened to Astana in 2008(?) cause of the huge Doping Scandals the team was involved in the years before)
The Luxembourg Procycling wont match their Expectations but doesnt disappoint
Crues Tour de France Predictions wont be correct...
Ill be back if i can think of more...

Some neo-pro will instantly be at the top and win lots of stages in early season races like Sagan did.
Cav doesn't win the green jersey again, and at least 3 riders caught for doping on Lampre.
Garmin has another surprise GC rider at the TDF.
Lance pulls a Favre like Deadpool said.
Both Conta and Andy don't win the Tour, but instead someone like Rodriguez.
A rider in any of the 3 GT's loses his lead on the last day.

Frank Schleck will win the giro. but will be too worn out to help andy at the tour.
As already mentioned, Jens Voigt will go off with a bang (victory in a big race, not necesarily a GT Stage.
There will be a suprise victor in the tour. maybe Van Den Broeck
Garmin-Cervelo will get 4th, 5th and 6th at either flandres or roubaix without anyone on the podium
Contador will be banned, but he'll appeal and have the ban lifted a few days before the tour, before going on to win in the closest tour ever (not necessarily the closest between 1 and 2, but more the top 5

Thor Hushovd will win Paris-Robaix. Cancellara will fail. Chris Anker Sørensen will win Tour de France... The Luxembourg Team will fail at the Tour. But win the Vuelta. Evans will be second in the Tour and finaly caught taking EPO by UCI. so Armstrong will move from 3 up to 2. (just saying)

Contador will win the TdF once more again. His ban will end immediately before it.
Geox will fail with Menchov and Sastre in the GT`s. So they won`t sponsor in 2012.
Voeckler will get the yellow jersey for at least 5 days.
Garmin Cervelo won`t win any big cobbled classic (Gent-Wevelgem, Ronde Vlaanderen, Roubaix, Kuurne, Scheeldeprijs) Neither will Cancellara or Boonen.
So it`s Flecha time
Sagan will be incredible in the first 3 months again and wins Paris Nice.

Contador's banned for one year. Comes back for the Vuelta and wins.
Sastre definitely enters the selected group of riders who suck. He does nothing remarkable in 2011. An age thing.
Antón wins the Giro he's supposed to race only for stage wins.
That guy from a small island wins the WC. Freire second.
I'll come back with more the next year.

Ricco does well and win's the Giro, goes on to the Tour and take stage wins. Takes the Liege Bastogne Liege and a top three in Giro di Lombardia.
Menchov has a good year takes a stage win and a podium at the Tour.
Nibali on the podium in the Giro, goes to the Vuelta as a contender and takes the win.
Marco Marcato has a good year and wins a bic classic and takes a stage in either the Giro, Tour, vuelta.
Bennati back in form, takes the last stage to Paris, and does a good Giro.
Ivan Basso does the Giro, and takes some stage wins while not trying anything for the GC, but makes it in top 5 anyway. Does the Tour in top shape, takes second place and a stage win.
Petacchi has a good year with a win in San Remo in March, takes a couple of stages at the Giro and the points yersey. Does the Tour and takes a couple of stages.
Kreuziger has big expectations before the Giro, but fails to deliver.
Hushovd takes the WC jersey in Copenhagen. Wins Paris Roubaix ahead of Pozzato and Cancellara. Takes a stage win in the Tour and is fighting for the green jersey with Petacchi, Bennati and Cavendish.
Boasson Hagen takes his first stage win in the Tour.
Scarponi has a better team and makes the podium in the Giro, and a stage win. Contends at the Vuelta and takes some stages.
Will come back with more. |

Andy Schleck misses his peak and wastes away the single week of form he has every year.
His brother experiences eleven falls and five punctures during races. He also hits a sheep during a training ride.
Boasson Hagen is caught doping. *hides*
Oh, and the bold one: the Giro is even awesomer than last year. (yes, I am aware that is not a word)
Edit: As for Hushovd: he get's the rainbow curse times two (since it was mild against Evans)

Vino wins the Tour, Andy Schleck 2nd again.
Cunego wins all the ardennes classics and the Giro.
Chris Anker Sörensen wins the Vuelta.
Farrar will take the points jersey in the Tour, Cavendish 1 point behind.
Cancellara will win the stage ending on Galibier.
Antón second in the Giro and the Vuelta.
Cavendish will win 7 stages in the Tour.
Geox will fail completely, winning only one race during the season. |

Gilbert will win classics.
Cancellara will win time-trials.
Andy will win mountain stages.
Cavendish will win sprints.
And now for some REAL guesses:
Greipel will win at least one stage in the Tour.
Ricco wins something, but he'll be criticized.
Geox will be an epic fail.
Therefore, Menchov wants to leave Geox.
At least two portuguese will ride the Tour.
Hushovd won't win the Worlds. Breschel will.
Cancellara wins RvV.
Boonen then warns him that he'll have to do his best to beat him in Roubaix.
Cancellara wins Roubaix because Boonen was distracted.
Antón races the Giro but doesn't win.
Contador will see the Tour from his TV.
A spanish rider won't win the Vuelta.
A portuguese rider won't win Volta a Portugal.
*Ryder Hesjedal will finish outside the top-10 in the Tour
*Bradley Wiggins will continue to disappoint and will finish every GT outside the top-25.
*Fabio Duarte won't do something special in Geox.
*The Giro will be won by Nibali
*The Tour will be won by Andy Schleck
*Porte will do well in Time trials; not in the mountains
*Peter Velits will do worse than 2010.
*A rider will be caught with doping. (duh!)
And now some wishes:
A portuguese rider wins a stage in a GT.
Less doping cases in cycling.
Peter Sagan will continue to do well.
As will Tiago Machado.
Sastre will do well in a GT. Probrably La Vuelta.

Michael Rassmusen new team will become a huge success. They will get contracts with manyt of the former Pegasus lads and be "promoted" to ProCont for 2012 in the late of the year
Hushovd wins PR and MSR. Farrar looses contact on the Poggio
Hoogerland will win a stage in a GT and the KOM jersey in that race.
Moncoutie won't win anything next year
Contador gets away by paying someone high up but gets caught again in TdF
Cancellara won't win anything important next year, only a stage in P-N
McEwen will reincarnate and win the green jersey in TdF
And the very bold one: Cavendish doesn't win one stage in the TdF and falls out on the timelimit in one of the mountainstages
