Occuring at the same time as a sprinters classic has given sprinters a choice to be there or here in Northern France. Of course some teams are blessed with a number of excellent sprinters and they will probably be the favourites in this 4 stage race.
The first two stages could break things up with well placed but let's face it short climbs. The last two stages are short and flat and should suit any sort of sprinter even one from a track racing background.

Steegmans and Eisel come over from the cobbles for this, whilst Cavendish will be deperate to turn around 100% Me's sprinting fortunes. Pokerstars always do well in races like this Milka, Mercedes and LEGO have good sprinting options also.
Its El-Al who will look to break things up with Telenor and Highroad.
I will post one report each evening Monday through to Thursday - stage one tomorrow. |

Maybe Cavendish can do well? Ha, its 100% Me sprinting in the 2011 season, no chance.

I'd love to see Steegmans try and break away in the closing kilometers - however, I think he's set for a few top 5 finishes here and nothing more. |

I wonder what I had smoked when setting the team for this race... Flat stage race with no sprinters on my team. Then again, everything is better than Brown sprinting :-p
Hopefully my squad can really put the pressure on over the speed bumps

Verbist and Cappelle both have big engines. Good choice having Cassidy as the lead out.
Not sprint-tastic. |

My WHOLE team outsprinted Cavendish .... Why is he following Murray when Murray is not my 2nd best sprinter??
Nice job by G and Russ though

Milka's guy who got 1 KOM point was Leukemans and not Caethoven.
And Nepomnyachsniy is Kazakh, not Ukrainian, Smowz!
Anyway this wasn't the best stage for Casper, but his main oppurtunity for the good result will be in stages 3 and 4.

This can't last. Hopefully Tolleson goes for the intermediate sprints, as the finish of the last two stages are much more suited to the faster sprinters, like the ones breathing down Tolleson's neck in the GC.

Hmmm, a flat race where I lack sprinters and my team is doing well I think I might try this more often

This is looking quite good now, nice second place for Casper and the time bonus as well.

Too bad Colby could get up at the same score as Kessiakoff, but still good and offensive riding from my team, and 5th by Florencio is good in the sprint
