Hi all ! In these days i read so many stories that i want to begin a story me too. After two years at Vacansoleil, the chairman fired me, because I downgrade from Pro Tour in Continental Tour. So i choose Rabobank Continental Team for grow new talent that one day can become world champions or win Paris - Roubaix.
DB : PCMdailyExpansionPack-2010Champs-v1030
Difficulty : Hard
A little summary of 2010 and 2011 seasons. In 2010 season Basso won the Giro, Schleck A. the Tour and S. Sanchez the Vuelta, with Contador not able to win a championship. In Melbourne the ITT time trial crown Brajkovic as new World ITT Champion, with David Millar in second position and Larsson in third. The road race was a domination of Gilbert, who accelerate at 10 km to go and won with 1' on Kroon (my player) and 1'10" on Gerrans who overcome Cavendish for the bronze medal sprint. Pro Tour and rider of the year award was won by Philippe Gilbert.
In 2011 Nibali won the Giro, S. Sanchez the Tour and Contador the Vuelta. In Copenaghem the World ITT champion was Bradley Wiggins, who incredibly beat Cancellara. Third place for Contador. But the biggest surprise was the sprint of the road world championship, when Theo Bos made the biggest upset ever in world championship, signing is first road victory, and beating Francisco Javier Ventoso (who takes the silver) and Thor Hushovd in bronze medal position. Like the year before Cavendish was fourth. The rider of the year was Samuel Sanchez, but in the Pro Tour classification was the former world champion Philippe Gilbert to win it (after win Liege-Bastogne-Liege and San Sebastian Classic). An incredible exploit was made by Cancellara who won Ronde Van Vlandeeren, Paris - Roubaix AND Amstel Gold Race in just 2 weeks.
The first winner of the 2012 season is Richie Porte who won the Australian time trial championship
1°: Richie Porte (Androni Giocattoli) in 59' 33"
2°: Cameron Meyer (Garmin-Transitions) at 27"
3°: Michael Rogers (Team HTC-Columbia) at 59"
In the road race is the 2010 bronze medal in Geelong, Simon Gerrans who become Australian champion
1°: Simon Gerrans (Caisse d'Epargne) in 4.06'54"
2°: Michael Rogers (Team HTC-Columbia) at 19"
3°: Matthew Lloyd (Omega Pharma Lotto) at 31"
Tomorrow i will present you my roster and my goals. I hope there are many users who follow this story. |

2012 GP d'ouverture de Marseille
The first race in europe, and also the first race for the new Rabobank CT, who line up with Ten Dam, Posthuma and Vermeltfoort as captains of the team. Romain Feillu, winner of last two GP the Marseille, is not at the depart, just like his squad. Vacansoleil is not invited. So the favourite are Le Mevel, Dumoulin, Joly, Pauriol and other rider who can make the exploit.
The race
Depart in Allauch, with 172 riders.
And here is the first hour breakaway. 5 riders : Tristan Valentin (Cofidis), Joeri Calleeuw (Jong Vlandereen), Sebastien Harbonnier (Differdange), Luis Pasamontes (Caisse d'Epargne) and Daniele Nardello (Colnago-CSF).
When the finish line is at 64 km to go, in the first slope of the Cote de l'Espigouler, 5 riders break away from the peloton. They are Joost Posthuma (Rabobank CT), Florian Guillou (Bretagne Schuller), Manuel Vazquez (Xacobeo-Galicia), Bram Tankink (Van Vliet) and Matthieu Ladagnous (Boygues Telecom).
At the top the two break away groups reunite and have a 3'20" advantage on the rest of the group.
Valentin and Nardello cannot follow the rythm of the first group. Only 7 riders at the front.
At 20 km from finish line, Ladagnous and Vazquez take a little advantage from the other 5 riders.
Moving on col de la Ginestre Posthuma try to pursuit all alone the two breakaway rider. Only Tankink can reach is rythm.
15 km to go and Ladagnous fly away all alone, leaving Vazquez. Only 15 km to go and 1'45" on the main group.
In the group, is Dumoulin that try to recover the breakaway, the group break in two part, of 13 riders per part.
Nobody can catch Ladagnous. The group wake up too late.
Posthuma and Tankink are recatch by the group at only 4 km to go.
And there is it !! Matthieu Ladagnous won the 2012 GP d'ouverture de Marseille. This is is first career win since the 2007 4 days of Dunquerke.
