Tour de Romandie Discussion
alexkr00
i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd86/mrlol_pcm/Man%20Game/Profiles/Romandie-1.png

Six days in Switzerland, which should please any type of rider, from sprinters to time - trial specialists and climbers. From the past 4 winners only Devolder won't be riding this year. Last year's winner, Alex Pluchkin, is back to defend his title, as well as former winners, Janez Brajkovic and Denis Menchov.

Pluchkin is the main man to follow, but Gesink and Karpets are some top competitors, both having the advantage over the Moldavian rider of a better team for the TTT. Domina brought here the duo of Brajkovic and Nibali but it's rather questionable if any of them has really what it takes to win Tour de Romandie this year. Uran, Menchov, Luis Leon Sanchez, Castano, Sinkewitz and Arroyo are also aiming for some high places in the general classification.

There are not a lot of top sprinters here, Bewley being the biggest name competing, while for the opening prologue Cancellara, Coppel and Cornu are the big favorites.

Riders to follow:
*****Alex Pluchkin
****Robert Gesink, Vladimir Karpets, Janez Brajkovic
***Denis Menchov, Vincenzo Nibali, Rigoberto Uran
**Fabian Cancellara, Sam Bewley, Luis Leon Sanchez, Carlos Castano, David Arroyo
*Patrick Sinkewitz, Jerome Coppel, Martijn Keizer, Dominique Cornu, Teejay Van Garderen

Note the most ideal route for Uran, but hopefully he can perform well

Well I cannot see that TTT making much of a difference, though I suppose a combination of that and the opener might make some sort of a difference.

But the winner of this has to go well on stages 3 and 5... I think maybe Karpets of Nespresso (probably a curse!)

I'm hoping Sinkewitz will get some time in yellow, if he can keep gaps down to a minimum on the prologue, stage 1 and 2, and of course hold on to Coppel's, Reus' wheels.

I have to win here, so you shouldn't have said that. Pfft

I've put my strongest possible TTT team here in the hope of a top place there (Top 3)... If I can win 20-30 seconds on some of the other strong riders there Castaño might have a shot at top 5. Otherwise I will be happy with top 10.

Bewley hopefully is good in the flat stages...

It sucks always going first in time trials.

Classic Cancellara brilliance, where was this on the cobbled classics.

Not sure he will keep it tomorrow will be fun to see the others try to wrest yellow off his shoulders!

Crommy
Nice to see the wins, but would have so much preferred them over the cobbles

Not really sure what to expect from this race. Gerdemann did well in the race where he was captain, so why not again? Wink

Nicely done from Bewley, and the 4 riders I anticipated in the frontgroup was there. So I'm satisfied here. Hopefully my lousy TT'ers won't lose too much energy on these stages to do a good jump at the TTT...

Sam Bewley could be in for the points jersey here if he does another good stage or two.

If you find any mistakes in the GC please let me know, as I had to add the bonus seconds for some stages myself.

I don't understand that... Don't you just wait until the next stage?

I'm yet again very satisfied. Carlos Castaño did well. I expect him to be stronger than atleast 4 in the group, so 7th is my expected result...

What do you mean by waiting for the next stage? The game gave bonus seconds for some stages, while for others didn't. So I had to add them myself in both the save-game and the exported results.

That stage worked out quite well for Cafe de Colombia. With a decent TTT might get a better result than I was expecting.

OK. Just thought that we took whatever the game decided to do...

It wouldn't be really fair for some riders not to get the bonus seconds they deserve, while others get them...

Nope, there is a ManGame Classifications file used. So its a bit concerning that it now seems not to be working.

I guess both Stages 2 and 3 didnt give bonuses, alex, or was it just Stage 3?

I've played the first 4 stages an while ago so I'm not sure about the 3rd stage but the second and the fifth one didn't give bonuses for sure.

I've just checked and I didn't do any changes to the excel file of the third stage so that one worked as it was supposed to.
