The concept is simple - rather than the usual teams you find in the database, there are British/Irish teams. The races are largely the same as any other database.
Please also note that this was based upon the basic Cyanide database - so dont expect any equipment - and I have not added many new stages in this version.
Features List
- British riders are split into their different nationalities, I have added 9 countries: England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Shetland Islands, Gibraltar.
- Tour of Britain 2010 route, plus Lincoln GP and East Midlands Cicle Classic added. All 3 races are set as ProTour, and have palmares records for 2007, 2008, and 2009.
- World Championships changed to British Championships. National teams are for 9 countries listed above, plus UK, Ireland and others. (So there is a risk of a non-Brit winning the British championships). This means the default World Champion jersey has been changed to the default British champion jersey - but a backup of the default World Champion jersey is included.
- National Road Race, Criterium and Time Trial Championships for England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
- There are no longer any simulated championships for Britain and Ireland. (Instead, there are simulated championships for Namibia and Australia)
- Scouting areas edited to produce more British riders
- Jersey, Mini-shirts and team logos
- Rider photos - as many 2010 as possible
- Track cyclists edited to become all British riders
- Riders per race reduced (Even for Grand Tours) due to the relatively small size of British teams
- National Champions. Ive opted to take them as they are currently, so Thomas and Wiggins as the British Champions, Brammeier and McCann the Irish RR and TT Champs, Appleby the Welsh RR Champ and Oliphant the Scottish RR Champ

Download
Rar file contains 2 folders - Program Files and Documents. Place the folders in Program Files inside your PCM directory in your Program Files, and place the folders in Documents in your Documents.
Right now I would recommend only playing with a 'ProTour' team. Version 2 of the DB will be better equiped towards a more challenging continental race gameplay. (For the same reason, when playing as a ProTour team, Id recommend keeping the amount of Continental rated races you play to a minimum)
Before you start your career, please decide which national team you want to control (England, Wales, Scotland, Isle of Man, Ireland etc etc) and select your manager nationality as that nationality. The majority of teams are still listed as British in the db, but in game the only riders listed as British are Chris Froome, Tomas Swift Metcalfe, Marcel Six and riders from the 'Continental B' team category.
Feedback
Any feedback youd like to give me is greatly appreciated - whether it be disagreements on stats or rider nationalities (england/scotland/wales), or help for version 2 - such as cyclist photos, dates of birth (in general if a birthday is set as 1st January, its because I dont know the actual value, while some year of births have had to be guessed), or better national team jerseys for England and Scotland.
This has largely been a 1-man job so far afterall, so it wouldnt surprise me if theres some mistakes.
Version 2
Ill be on holiday until August 1st, but after that Ill look to create a version 2 - with the 'Contiental B' teams completed, and more British and Irish races.

with team sky, cervelo - roche and garmin - lotto, is it just british riders included?
Short answer: Yes
Long answer:
When approaching how to include the British and Irish riders riding for the top teams, I decided that they needed to be in a few separate teams, and that I wanted the British riders to be seen as team leaders and be racing most of the time - therefore it would be counter productive to include the non-British/Irish riders.
For Sky, the 8 Brits and Cioni (British born) werent enough to allow for sending a full team to 2 clashing ProTour races (max riders for a ProTour race in the DB is 6, 7 for GTs, 5 for continental) so I included Augustyn, Barry and Portal aswell. You can see a picture of the team in the first post.
For both Cervelo-Roche and Garmin-Lotto, I needed to add riders not associated with the teams, so that the rosters were an adequate size.
Cervelo-Roche I took as an Irish team, so included a few promising young Irishmen (Bennett and Downey are both with VC La Pomme at the moment, although I think Bennett just became Stagiare for one of the top French teams) and a couple of others.
Garmin-Lotto, I threw in Dowsett here since he rides for an American team, which Garmin is (regardless of the rivalry between Trek Livestrong and the Garmin development team), and also a few riders who I know to be riding in Belgium (the Lotto link) - for example Patten, Callaway, Thomas and the Irish Peter Williams are all on the ASFRA Racing team.
Here's the stat pics of all riders in those latter 2 teams:
The other 'collective' team is the Giant Racing Team, with the likes of David McCann, Tom Faiers, Tomas Swift-Metcalfe, Alex Coutts, Michael Hutchinson, James Spragg, Hamish Haynes etc. Spragg would have fit the criteria for Garmin-Lotto but I placed him here so he had a greater leaders role.

This DB has been good fun to play with, although I do think you have been quite harsh on Augustyn's stats
I agree on both counts, particularly the first
Augustyn, Portal and Barry and probably a few other non-Brits in other teams, would all receive higher stats if I wanted to be more accurate - but since I wanted the Brits to be winning and leading the teams in races, I gave them stats which puts them in a more domestique role. It was either give him those stats, or delete him - as I did for various other Sky riders.

When will the v2 come? looking forward to it
The next version relatively soon will see the 'Continental B' teams finished off, and Ill try to throw in some more stage profiles - but it will take a bit longer for the version with a British race calendar being used.
so are we talking about a week or a couple of weeks, i'm not saying this to put pressure on you, just take the time you need and make a good db whit as few bugs as possible. Anyway i'm looking forward to see the result of the final db

Well, which version do you want to know the timeframe for?
Version 2 with all teams and riders completed will be in a week or so, hopefully.
Version 3 with the British calendar is impossible to predict - since theres plenty of stages that need to be made for it first.
i only have one question left, will all the races in the calender be from GB and all the other "country's"? or will there also be other races from other country's?

Tom Copeland and Matt Green used to ride on my team: top was possibly the worst sprinter you have ever seen, no offence to the lad but he was a very good climber, so you may want to lower his sprint.... alot!
Matt currently rides in belgium and has developed into a great cobbles rider, but struggles up hills more, he has a very good sprint also.
Symon Lewis who rides for sigma-sport is my girlsfreinds brother, he's a tracky who has very good accelaration and sprint, but struggles up hills when hes on the road. better at track...
i would also like to see tony Gibbs hill stat lowered, he's a tragic climber and is a bit fat these days!
I also race with Chris macnamarra from corely. he has a truely shocking sprint but is skinny and gets up climbs on road races verrrrrry well.
hope you use the feedback
btw, the DB is absolutely brilliant - thanks a lot for making it
