With the few and very uncomplete tutorials I believe we should share and help each other as stagemakers.
So far I've managed to create some simple stages but has anyone found out how to move the road up/down to affect the altitude and profile of the stage? |

For change de altitude on the profile, you need to un-select an option in Contextual Panel. I don't remember en this moment the name of that option... Sorry |

The google maps isn't possible to use, because Cyanide don't have the rights to use it

I have an optional solution. Find your map on www.openstreetmap... and print your screen. Save in Bitmap 24Bit and import it in the stage editor
works for me. |

Could you explain a bit more detailed?
However, I'm writing a beginners guide in Norwegian to the Stage Editor now, maybe I can translate it to English later.

I've made some simple stages.
A time trial of 56km
A few city criteriums
A mountain summit after 120km
But here are my main questions
- How do I make a mountain so I can set out with a mountain (say Alpe D'Huez) and make a close to exact replia profile wise. The raise terrain tool seems a bit difficult to create these types of climb.
-How do we load the stages in PCM? (made up stages I mean)

Another question. There are several .dem in the PCM Folder. So it is possible to create the topographical area automatically. Unfortunately these are just for a big part of Europe. Is there a way to get compatible .dem for Australia, America and the rest of the world. |

I searched a lot and found a few DEM, but I couldn`t open them with the stage editor. It always crashed. |

Here are all the DEM files for USA. I don't have the game nor the stage editor so i can't check but check the readme, investigate the file format with notepad. DEM is a standarized fileformat so it should be compatible. |

Maybe I haven`t understand the editor enough yet and all these maps would help me with my problem.
But what I am looking for are these kind of .dem that are in the PCM Folder.
So you can create your stage in bikeroutetoaster.com, bikemap.net ... save as gps and open this one in the editor.
Then the topographic will be set automatically, so you don`t have to create mountains and valleys on your own.
With these maps you just have a view where to set mountains but it`s never that exact like with the gps.
If you try to open a gps route outside of Europe the editor will crash, because there are no compatible .dem and these maps aren`t enough I think. |

So we can add coordinates ourselves? That's great news. I was getting quite frustrated with the fact that it was impossible to make USA-races.
