MB's preview of the race:
Only six stages, yet for the 11 teams here, every stage is vital, an ITT, a TTT and 2 mountain stages mean that there will be decisive moments,, and the winner will be the rider who capitalises on them.
Lets go through the talent
Sprints
There are 4 top quality sprinters in the field this year: Förster, Chicchi, Brea and Vaitkus. All 4 have decent lead out men so the battles for the flat stages should be fierce, although the rolling terrain on stgae 2 will probably give the advantage to Vaitkus.
ITT
Larsson is the best Time trialist here, followed by Abal, Lloret and Spanish Champion, Gutiérrez Palacios. However the short nature of the time trial means that it is unlikely to be a decisive factor.
Mountains
Alarcon is comfortably the best climber here, with Abal and Perez Sanchez the best of the rest. Beyond those three the field gets crowded and there are 20 or so riders who could take the step up to challenge for a top place.
Team Time Trial
The 30km team time trial comes at stage 4 and may well determine the outcome of this race. Here I would say, Telenor are favourites, followed by IKEA and Petronas.
Overall
For the overall competition,I feel that Alarcon's strong team will help him stay close enough in the time trials to take top spot overall.
After that it's a question of comparative time gaps between the mountains and the Time trials, which gives me a predicted final result as follows
Top 10:
1.Alarcon
2.Kessiakoff
3.Perez Sanchez
4.Abal
5.Lloret
6.Stetina

Despite an excellent performance by Abal I don't think the opener was decisive. That said a decent 26 seconds put on Alarcon will need to be taken back elsewhere - I wonder whether Ikea will play the Larsson card.
Rohregger and Lloret look like big dangers and Red Bull are also pleased once again with a gutsy top 20 performance from JL Augustyn.

I will struggle to stay close in the TTT I suspect, so I will need some good mountain stages to stay in contention.

Sorry for the luck of screenshots, but I'm not in the best PCM - reporting shape at the moment.

Not a stage that requires huge amounts of screenshots I would not have thought. I thought the report was up to standard like all the ones you have done so far alexkr!
The sprinters got their day - perhaps not as hilly as I thought it would be. Vaitkus would have been there no matter what I am sure.
Vaitkus takes the leaders jersey which may create some interesting tactics from Telenor! |

Didn't realize this had started. Not a terrible first couple of stages, 4th for Raisin and 6th for the Meatball.
EDIT: I also brought a decently strong TT team. Let's see how this goes.

With the two mountain stages, the second of which should create enough gaps to mean that TTT is not the be all and end all.
As far as I can see the three favourites are Jose Alarcon (IKEA), David Abal (Santander) and Francisco Perez Sanchez (UBS). Though Petronas led by Manual Lloret and Telenor with Rohregger and Kessiekoff have what appears to be the best TTT squads. Lets also not forget the homefield advantage for Raisan (El Al) and Peterson (Mercedes) and both Americans have two other Americans in their squads.
There does not appear to be much in it as far as the TT stats are concerned with only Falcon and Yamaha who would be fortunate to make a GC top 10 here a bit short. So I am not sure the gaps will be huge on stage 4 probably 50 - 60 seconds covering the top 9 teams.
As far as my own team is concerned I am delighted with their efforts so far and am hopeful of sneaking three or four riders in the top 20 with Augustyn up there in the top 10! Not sure if Arashiro is quick enough in the last stage but I am encouraged to see a sprint train attempted again.

1 Mountain stage left, hopefully Rohregger can get a top 5, and Kessiakoff a top 10. I belive they can, that would be great for me
A little disappointing with only 2nd place in the TTT, if I had not loaned out Schadlich I would've had it ;-)

Superb ride by IKEA in that TTT - if they can hold it together on stage 5 - what a fantastic race it will be for them. Good performance from Red Bull in this TT test.
Yamaha again proving its good to have attacking riders around nearly snatching a stage win there with Montenegro!
Cannot see Augustyn making the podium it is really tight from 4th to 11th, so I would be happy if he keeps the top 5. Kilun and Zwizanski need to ride well to maintain their GC spots as well. |

Still want a stage win. Also a top 5 on GC would be good.

Ikea maintain a wonderful race from them, Alarcon could well end up taking ALL the jerseys, Larsson and Bjellmark in top 10 to boot.
Petronas (with an incredible 5 riders in the top 20) and Telenors 2 riders in the top 10 gives them a good feel for GC going into the last stage.
Augustyn again does exceptionally well to nudge himself up near to Lloret like consistency. Hoping he keeps upright in last stage to deliver a really nice podium.
A breakaway perhaps on the last stage? |

Great work by Florencio Vaitkus couldn't have won without him!
Been a really nice race for me, 4th for Rohregger and 10th for Kessiakoff
Stage win by Vaitkus, 2nd place in the TTT and for Vaitkus, and a 3rd place for Rohregger
And to top it Vaitkus won points
