This time last year, this thread was already a few pages long (Isso set it up straight after the last giro stage).
Well, I guess each stage will have it's own thread like last year.

No I did not.

Anyway, this might actually be interesting for once. But I'm not gonna give it a lot of thought until after the nationals.

The stge with Peyresourde, aspin, tourmalet, l'aubisque is a dissapointment, if those climbs came later in the stage it would be very very exciting, this is were the TDF lacks unlike the Giro.

valverde321
The Tourmalet is a final climb of the day. Just like Ventoux was last year.

It also appears during the stage with the most climbs...that will likely come to nothing because it ends with 60kms of downhill and flat

I hope not , that's what made it boring last year.

I agree, Astana makes the tour boring in general.

valverde321
I think I said this in another thread but they control the race too much. Hopefully with the weaker team of Astana it wont be as controlled. There is still Radioshack but they've got Lance and Levi so not as much chance of winning. This year should be good.

I'm hoping to see stages 4,5,6,16,17 & possibly 18 this year. Looking forward to it Smile

Contador haters or guys who doesn't want to see him in yellow in Champ Elysees just need to hope that AC will have bad day on Tourmalet-finish stage, because if he won't have, it's pretty clear to me, that he will get yellow at stage to Morzine and will hold it till Paris.

This'll be a great tour. I can just feel it. Some storylines to look forward to:

A weakened Astana with Contador but without Bruynell. How will they fare?

The aging king Armstrong - is he too old? Is his team strong enough?

The young buck, Andy Schleck. Can he take the final step up the ladder?

Who will lead a very strong Liquigas team? Nibali, Kreuziger or Basso?

How epicly will Cadel Evans (and his dire team) fail in the final week?

Who will become KOM and then be exposed as a doper?

And finally: Will Cavendish win the green?

I don't mind seeing him win, but I do mind if he does it 10 days before the finish Pfft

Basically, I just want to be entertained.

It all depends on how Contador survives the first week.

Let me answer your questions:
1. Contador will win.
2. Yes, he's too old, the team's old too.
3. He'll be second again.
4. The Liquigas boys will probably all get in the top 15.
5. By the final week, Evans will be far too back to matter.
6. Pellizotti (that would really fit).
7. Yes.

See? That wasn't hard. Smile

"Who will become KOM and then be exposed as a doper?"

"6. Pellizotti (that would really fit)."
