First event of the day is a crash in the descent of the first climb of the day
victims are: Lemair , Galland , Mertens , Ojavee
The first breaks that really gets away is formed after 33km. Riders in it are : Pichot, Médérel, Cappelle, Delpech, De Kort, Poulhiès, Sulzberger, Bar, Engoulevent.
After 67km 4 riders are trying to catch the early break riders are: Augé, Levarlet, Marcato, Bichot.
Eventually they are catching the break so a group of forms with 2’50” on the bunch.
With 23km to go some riders are escaping out of the breakaway. Riders are : Cappelle, Médérel, De Kort, Pichot, Delpech.
Some of the favorites attacked and are now going after the leaders Riders are: Trofimov, Lagutin, Taramaee, Sulzberger, Veikkannen. They are only 53 seconds down. And they have a lead of 22 seconds on the other part of the early break.
With 10kmto go all the breaks after the leaders are coming together. That means The 5 that were right behind the leaders the 13 survivors of the early break + Vanendert, Arrietta, Roche, Lemoine, Galland, Tshopp, Bessy, Blot, Brandt, Lloyd. This big group is 37 seconds down on the 5 leaders and have more than a minute on the pack.
With only 5km to go Sulzberger tries desperate to reach the 5 leaders.
But he has no chance alone. The 5 leaders are sprinting and it is quite difficult to say if It’s De Kort or Pichot who wins the stage. It’s De Kort who wins! Sulzberger has to be glad with a 6th place and veikkannen is 11th. I was hoping for more but the 5 were to strong.

Like always in flat stages there’s a break with in it Celis, Dall’antonia, Pavarin, Rodriguéz, Scogniamiglio, Lovassy, Campagnaro, Van den Houte, Agosta, Berdos, Finneto, Bertogliati, Kondrut and Celli. Those riders are working well together and the pack seems not to conserned about the riders in it. So the break gets more than 6minutes and with 10km to the line the pack know that it’s hopeless. On the same moment Berdos launches an attack Agosta, Campagnaro and Celis are countering. When Berdos and Agosta are tyred Campagnaro descides to attack with Celis in his wheel who’s on paper the fastest of those 2.
The two riders having a nice lead while Berdos and Agosta are getting caught by the rest of the early break. Campagnaro thinks he can surprise Celis by starting a very long sprint.
But Celis hangs on and doesn’t take over.
Because Celis doesn’t take over the pace is quite slow and the group behind gets agonizing close.
Celis gets out of the wheel of Campagnaro.
He holds it!
Very exciting sprint for other podium places wich is eventually won by scogniamiglio followed by Van Den Houte.

The parcours is quite hilly so there should be a big fight on the last climb. So the usual stuff break with a few riders: Modolo, Lund, Mata, Cannone, Ackermann, Pinnizotto, Honig. As expected there getting catched by a group of riders formed by various attacks.
In Front are 3 strong guys who are looking for a victory names are Vanendert, Mazzanti and Finnetto. Behind them are 2 riders who are trying to jump to the leaders. Palumbo and Pietropolli. But they get caught by the pack.
Later with 5 to go masciarelli and marzoli have made the jump. Now we have 2 riders in front but they are no match for finnetto and mazzanti in the sprint.
Masciarelli with the leadout for Marzoli followed by Vanendert Finneto and Mazzanti.
Mazzanti come out of last position and overtakes everybody. What a strong sprint! Our riders fighting for the podium.
The pack was very close but Geslin triggers a crash when leading out for veikkannen and takes him down with him. Brandt is also a victim.
But mazzanti was to strong and powers through to victory 2nd Marzoli 3rd Finnetto.

As usual a break that doesn’t hold so long. Because Quick-Step was working for their leaders.
First real important action was an attack by Haussler followed by teammate Hushovd Van Summeren Breschel O’Grady and Nuyens. But o’Grady has a flat tyre and loosed much time he will never see them again.
Just the thing that you won’t expect Hushovd is leaved behind on the flat.
Attack by Pozzato countered by Boonen, Hoste and Cancellara.
In the lead group Nuyens crashes on a roundabout and gets dropped.
Eventually we get a nice group with Haussler, Boonen, Van Summeren, Breschel and Spartacus.
Haussler tries to outsprint Cancellara but he’s to tyred.
He beats Haussler on the line. Great Victory.
In the sprint for 3rd Breschel gets beaten by a hair.

Not like the most races there’s no breakaway because Quick-Step is working for Boonen and Devolder. The pace is so high that the bunch splits in two parts. Bozic our leader is in pack number 1.
Then we get a group with favorites Boonen, Langeveld, Devolder. But no Pozzatto or Cérvélo men they’re in the 2nd pack. Right when Boonen comes in that group he has a flat tyre.
Boonen gets back in the front and together with Devolder he sets the pace so high that nobody could follow. On one of the hils Devolder is riding away from his teammate.
Behind those 2 we have a group with Breschel, Langeveld, Sentjens, Terpstra and Van Impe with Eisel.
As you might know when Devolder’s engine starts you can’t stop him same with Boonen The group behind will never see them again. So Devolder 1 Boonen 2. I still don’t know what would have happened if Hushovd, Pozzatto and Haussler hadn’t been in the 2nd pack.

Since it’s a quite flat stage i would expect it will come down to a mass sprint for victory.
With 100km to go there’s a group of escapees with Masciarrelli, Castroviejo, De Segovia, Chuela, Garcia, Claude and Carbello.
After the final climb Claude and Carbello are leaved behind.
The escapees can’t be reached in-time by the pack so they will sprint for victory or not…
Masciarrelli the slowest of the group tries to avoid a sprint by attacking with 7km to go. The group drops Garcia.
Castroviejo and Chuela won’t ride after him and they let De Segovia close the gap. So De Segovia brings Castroviejo to the sprint in an excellent position.
Masciarrelli is in front so he most likely won’t win he’s pulling on the sprint.
De Segovia comes out of Masciarrelli’s wheel with a blistering speed and Castroviejo tries to outsprint him on the left side of the road with Chuela in his wheel.
De Segovia celebrating his very nice win. Castroviejo is disappointed he has the feeling that if he started sprinting a fraction earlier ha could have win. Chuela 3rd.

The parcours is hilly so maybe a sprint with only strong man. An early break in it are Mayoz, Rasch, Guggisberg, Blot, Modolo, Hasanovic and Goddaert.
They get catched with 10km to go and then some favorites a going for the win. The names are: Stalder, Bole, Deignann, Lloyd and Vino!
In the last descent some riders are breaking away from the pack and settle in the front group.
Riders who came in de descent: Roche, Frank, Grivko, Pietropolli, Tiralongo, Augé, Botcharov, Denifl and Dario Cataldo.
And yes it comes to a sprint Roche surprises everybody only Lloyd hangs on 2,5 meters.
Lloyd closes the gap but is it enough?
It is Lloyd takes the win before Roche and Stalder.
Roche very disappointed he had to wait a little more.
Top 10:
Done something wrong.
