I have been playing the 1991 pack database today in career mode plus I know their I a few other historical database for PCM2009 and was wondering if it was possible to have like a secondary database for the scouting. If that makes any sense. In other words, playing with 1991 pack and while scout during the season it would actually have the real riders that started their careers in 1992. I'm wondering is that even possibly, and it would be cool to see a group of database makers start a mini-project. Not just for one of the historic packs but a project that would work with all of them. Hope all that makes sense.

Worked in PCM06 (done by the PPDB team). Fairly sure it's impossible now

Do you know were that forum/database is? I would like to see it. And does anyone else have an answer?

After reading what the ppdb crew did to achieve this it looks like doing it now for say pack 1991 would not just be a small task than I thought it could be. I still think it would be cool if a group of db makers did figure it out. But with PCM10 coming out in the next few months I don't think anyone would take on such a challenge. And I know I don't have the skills to do it.

that would be very cool but there was some setting in pcm 06 that let that sort of thing work but now that setting is not there if i remember from stories i`ve heard correctly. OF Course it would be neat if someone tried but again its lots of ork and pcm 10 is just around the corner. |

I'm fairly sure it's now impossible in PCM 09 to do it.
The game just takes two random names when creating new riders that you scout

It wasn't what I was working on, but I'm pretty sure Ozzy or Crue kind of implemented it for the PCM.daily .db.
They made the names of scouted riders more realistic I think. Whether they made them pre-set names I'm not sure. |

Actually, including upcoming 'real' riders has never been easier than in PCM09.
DYN_young_rider. Adding riders to that file will make it possible to scout them in career mode. |

HOPE! Man after everyone saying it was impossible, CrueTrue comes through.
Which game editor would you need to do this?

Well I found it in Hannes Convertor, is it say possible to copy the database from PCM10 and paste it over into DYN_young_rider in the pack 1991 db. Then change age, stats, etc. to make it work, or is not that easy and you would have to do it all by hand?

My guess would be that you have to do it all by hand because when has something that has to do with pcm ever been as easy as a copy/paste. Anyway wait for someone more reliable to answer this question though. |

Yeah, that was what I was thinking too. But hey I'm trying to find shortcuts.

Mresuperstar, apparently, people here are just trying to confuse you
There are usually no names in DYN_young_rider, so it'd be useless to copy it over. But if you find a DB which does have a few young riders included, it's possible to copy it over. |

So, I'm trying to figure this out, I can only use copy and paste from one DYN_young_rider db into another DYN_young_rider in a different db? And it's not possible to copy and paste say from DYN_cyclist from 2010PCMDAILYDB into DYN_young_rider of the Pack1991DB?

It's not possible to copy one table to a different table. You can, however, copy the same table from one DB to another. |

Ok, got it. So really I would have to find databases that already did this or start from scratch. And last question, say if I only want a few of the big name riders in the scouting zone and do it by hand, does the game still add all the other "fake riders" with his name into the scouting zones say if I only add 5-10 riders in the DYN_young_rider - it's actually called DYN_young_cyclists.
