I guess your question should be, is there any way to continue to play the game. If we should help you continue to play, please exactly tell us you system, which db you are playing and if you can still start the game or load your career. |

Have the same problem now and then, its seems like the C++ is making some problems.
What I found out is that a stage can crash, this would happend if i have played for awile, but if I start the game once again the stage works.
So I started to quit the game and restart it now and then.
Enoying but it seems to be the only thing to do. |

How much RAM do you have installed in you computer? |

I got 4gb RAM, but someone told me that this game just keeps using the memory and "fills" it up and it crash..
Not much to do with this exept reboot the system.. |

4GB should be enough, I played with 2GB and never had such a problem. Maybe some "part" of your RAM is "broken".
Why do you reboot the system? Have you tried to just start the game after it crashed? |

I will try lower settings this evening.
After quite some time playing and the game crash, it wont even start again..
So thats why I reboot.
Im thinking it might be something with "heavy" grafics since (in my recent career) almost all mountain stages on TdF crashed, but the sprint and tempo seems to be ok...
edit: the PC should have no problem running the program on full details. |

You could turn off the recording of the replay if you have not already, this saves much RAM.
Do you check the task manager after a crash. Maybe some PCM chunk is still running preventing you from starting the game again.
Another thing to try. Use 8x to speed up the stage in mountain stages. I think it does crashes after a certain time rather then after a certain km.
On my computer it most certainly crashes once every day I play this game. But after the first crash which happens soon after I started the game, I can start the game again and play for hours without any further problems. |

Think the replay is off, have to check. The task manager is empty afterward so dont think thats the problem.
Im more into your idea about using 8x on some stages. It seems like the more im playing "realtime" it chrashes, while im abel to speed through another stage.
But again that is a problem towards the memory getting lower and lower.. |

In the task manager go to the process tab to find the hidden PCM stuff.
There you can also see how much RAM has been used by PCM and other applications. To see it you need to play in windowed mode, of course.
Maybe another application is wasting RAM too? |

*cough* Memory leakage alert *cough*
Ram won't be the problem as ive manageed to play it alongside some more heavier processes with only 2 gb ram
Could i ask what framework you currently have installed on your pc? The problem could be there.
Used to have problems similar to yours.
btw Vista?
Any similar problems with other games with embedded XML?
Any problems with previous versions of pro cycling manager?

Just installed Windows 7 home edition. Have to check the framework but I think I saw windows C++ somewere.
Im was thinking maybe old drivers or something but games like FM 2010 is running without problem.
Had some previous problems with PCM 07 - 08, but that was on my laptop, much the same as on this one actually. (this pc is a stationary)
Im also thinking towards wrong installment of updated DB, (using pcm 2010 now) Did follow the instructions, but you never now..
And can editing the DB make it unstable? |

yes wrongfully editing a db can cause your game to become unstable. Well seen you've just installed windows 7 rules out the framework.
have you tried the compability modes? administrator mode?

No, whats that?
And my suspicion towards the editing bit seems to be right then.

for administrator mode you will rightt click on the pcm icon and then there is a bunch of commands like cut copy and such but near the top there is a command called run as administrator. |

This is a small problem so i won't make a new thread:
I want to switch PCM to my new PC, i still have the download key from when i got the game a year ago, but i can't get to the download page without a payment. I remember it saying you can download the game up to 6 times? |
