Our season started with a race in South Africa called Bloemfontein Classic it´s a hilly race where we had hope for a good result with M Wyss . Christopher Stevenson did managed to get in the long breakaway and when the top guys hunted him and the break back he could ride with them and get a 12th place in our first race ever. Not the best start but okey now when the debut in the cycling is done.
Our next race will be Down Under classic a short flat race where we will hope for F Chicchi with help from S.Clarke, T.Gudsell, M.Jamieson, T.Larsson, G.Tzortzakis and C. Van Heerden.
After that we will go to our first stage race , Volta ao Algarve with Theo Eltink as our team captain.

Our first podium place is done in the 5th raceday this season and it was Theo Eltink who came in as 2nd in the steepfinish in 3rd stage down in Portugal. Winner was Jurgen Van Den Broeck.
Theo Eltink also takes the 2nd place in the GC.
On a later stage who was an over 30 KM ITT Theo Eltink lost some time and position and after the last stage we could se that he took the 10th placE in the GC and 3 in the KoM Jersey.

Once again we managed to get a podium place this time by Fransesco Chicchi with a 2nd place after Matthew Goss in Clasica de Almeria. We feel that our first win is getting closer and closer . We hope Eltink can do well in Giro del Trentino. And we have some ambitions that Chicchi can snitch one or more stage down in Turkey there he has leadout help from both Van Hummel and Van Heerden.
A picture of Chicchis 2nd place.

Our first win ever is now a fact. Johnny Hoogerland took it in stage 2 of Euskal Bizikleta. After losing several minutes on stage 1 he attacked sometimes on stage 2 and with 5 km left he did his move and hold on to the win.
Here is the win-picture

In Presidential Tour of Turkey we send a good team, in the sprint we hoped for Chicchi, Van Hummel and Van Heerden. And we had Wyss there for the more hillystages.
We are happy for the results of this race and Van Hummel did best with 2 stage win, 5th in the GC, 2nd in the pointsjersey. Chicchi did get a podium place on stage 1 and some other top 10 places. Wyss and Van Heerden did also get some top 10 places.
Now we are of to Tour of Romandie!
Kenny Van Hummels two stage wins.

We send a great team to Olympia´s Tour where we hoped that we could get atleast one stage win.
And on stage 3 our loan in from Team Pokerstars Jacopo Guarnieri managed to sprint best in the peleton and took the stage. And on the next they our second great Italian-Sprinter Fransesco Chicchi took our second win in this race.
So we did managed our goal with atleast 1 stage win.

It's time to go to our neighbors in the west for our first goal this season , a top 5 place in Ringerike GP.
Eltink and Hoogerland are the guys we hope for with help from Wegelius in the mountain.
And maybe Guarnieri can do some good result on the more flat stages with help from Van Heerden.
We also sent Stevenson and Norwegian A.Lund they will try to get in a perfect breakaway in one of the more hillystages.

Here you have an update about Ringerike GP, Norway.
One of our season goals was to get a top 5 in the GC here.
Eltink and Hoogerland showed a really good teamwork here and managed to get Eltink in 3rd position in the GC and Hoogerland himself did get 8th in the GC.
We did also get some good result in stages, Guarnieri on the podium in the last stage and Eltink on the podium twice. Hoogerland and Eltink came 2nd and 3rd in the points jersey and finally we came first in the team classifiction. To sum up it was a really good race for us!
So our first goal this season is completed!
Eltink works well in the mountains

When we went to Denmark for Post Danmark Rundt we had a goal to win the KoM jersey, but we was not really eager to win it so we had to forget about that jersey and suddenly we even forget we were in the race the best result was in the last stage by Chicchi a 5th place.
But a CT ranking has been viewed and after our bad start of the season were we where in the two last places we had start to climb a little. We are now 26 out of 29 and getting closer to the 1000 points.
And in the U-23 we have sponsored a team with 5 danes and 1 malasyian guy. Mohd Shahrulnizam Che Samsudin have started really good and is the best ranked rider of all U23 and Mikkel Lund is ranked as 28th. Those points they have collected place our team in 3rd place so for.

One of our biggest season goals this season was to win our home race, Scandinavian Race Uppsala. We sent a team with Chicchi as absolute team leader and Van Hummel as co-leader. With Van Heerden as the biggest help in the sprint. The fact that there were too many good sprinters here made it almost impossible to get a good result and Chicchi were the first Falcon-Husqvarna rider to the finnish in a 11th place and Van Hummel as 12th.
The winner came from another nordic team, Telenor - SAS, Tomas Vaitkus infront of Mercedes-Benz´s JJ Haedo and Milkas´s norweigan Thor Hushovd.
Right now we are in the final stage of Volta a Portugal where Theo Eltink has won one stage , two 2nd places and one3rd place. Also Charles Wegelius managed a 3rd place after a breakaway. It´s just a ITT left and Eltink has a chance to top 10 result in the GC.
Update; Eltink did an okey ITT and finnished 10th in the GC.

Sponsor Speculations
At this time of the season it´s starts to speculate of sponsors for the next year in most of the teams so even at current Falcon-Husqvarna.
After just one year as sponsors, it´s rumours that both Falcon and Husqvarna stops in the cycling world as sponsors.
The owner and director of the team already looking after any major Swedish companies willing to sponsor a Swedish team in the world of Cycling. And has somehing going on with a transport company from Sweden.

Season is off
Now our first season in the professional Cycling World is over.
We´ve had some bright spots, but if we look in the final list, we have not done a great season directly...
Theo Eltink has been our best individual rider, with some races left for the other teams he is on 71th place in the individiual rankings and Johnny Hoogerland as 2nd for our team in 126th anf at 3rd we have Marcel Wyss on 134th place.
In the team ranking we are at 26 our of 29 right now but as the 27th team has some races left we may go down to 27 before all races are done.
The only races left for our riders is the NC and the Criterium Series final with the finnish on Champ Elysees.

We are getting prepared for the next season!
Some weeks ago we could tell you that Falcon and Husqvarna didn´t want to extend their sponsorscontract with us. So after a intensive searching for new sponsors we now proudly can present them and the Jersey for the next season.
Our first sponsors will be Saab and Scania. Saab is a Swedish based automakercompany who is own my the Dutch company named Spyker.
J.Hoogerland and T.Eltink was two big details for them to sign the contract.
And Scania is a Swedish truck- and buscompany. Between 1969-1995 Saab and Scania was the same company and they are now happy to cooperate together again.
And our Secondary sponsors will be Vattenfall and Dooria.
Vattenfall is a big energy company in Sweden.
Dooria however is a quite small company which makes doors, and they have their headquarters in Norway but is based in Sweden.
Cube did extend their contract as our bikesponsor but we have a new clothsponsor and that are Reebok.
And with these sponsors we have a jersey who looks like this:
Thanks to MrDemus who have done the jersey. |
