New for the 2011 Management Game is a Criterium Series, which will be organised by Deadpool.
There will be ten criterium races over the course of the year, one a month. Each team is guaranteed entry into at least one criterium if they want it, with a maximum of six races for a Continental team, and four races for a ProTour Team. The preference for bids runs in reverse order from last year's standings. So the worst team in the Continental Tour in 2010 has the best chance of entering any given race, whereas the ProTour winner has the worst. New Continental teams will be placed even with whichever team finished midway up the Continental standings last year.
Each race has 12 teams, with five riders per team. No riders entered into the criteriums can have maximum XP*. Races do not count towards race days, however normal scheduling conflicts apply. Also, riders in the Criterium Series earn 2 xp per race.
The first nine races of the year are normal criteriums. They are worth €5,000 to the team budget next year per win, and also give out criterium ranking points for the following results:
1st - 10
2nd - 6
3rd - 4
4-5 - 3
5-7 - 2
8-10 - 1
In addition, there will be primes on the courses, worth 2 points each.
These points do not apply to the Continental or ProTour standings, only to a separate Criterium Ranking.
At the end of the nine races, the twelve teams with the highest score in the Criterium Ranking, found by adding the scores of all their scoring riders, will be invited to the final race of the Criterium Series, the Criterium Championship. The Criterium Championship will be held on a day with no other races, however, teams can only enter riders who have previously raced for them in the Criterium Series into the Championship. The winner of the Championship gets a Criterium World Champion jersey, and also earns €10,000 for his team. The Criterium Championship also gives out 4 xp for the race, instead of the usual 2 xp.
Lastly, the team which wins the overall team classification, through all ten races, wins €100,000 for the budget next year.
The race routes are being finalized, but here are the locations of each race:
January | China | Febuary | Turkey | March | USA | April | Germany | May | Holland | June | Spain | July | Portugal | August | Italy | September | Belgium | October | France |
The race in France will be the Criterium Championship, and held on the Champs Elysees.
*The point of the Criterium Series is to provide race days and opportunities for victory for domestiques and the like, who rarely get a chance to win anything in the normal man-game. The only restriction on riders entered into these races is that they not have max xp, however I reserve the right to veto the entry of any rider who although they do not have full xp, are too high in quality, and whose participation would break the spirit of the rules of the Criterium Series.
Entries for this Criterium Series will open later in the off-season.

A criterium series without a round in Australia? Heresy.

Right now, I have zero riders without max exp. ..
Not sure if I'll be able to buy 5 in the transfer season, but I probably won't bother doing so;
So the worst team in the Continental Tour in 2010 has the best chance of entering any given race, whereas the ProTour winner has the worst.
Good addition - but sadly not for me
Not that I was going to need those 100 000 anyway |

Waghlon: Initially a round was scheduled in Australia, but it fell through.
mb2612: Define not much else.

He would not be allowed to ride. SN and I have decided that the maximum stat a rider can have in the race specific stat in 76.
So for a flat crit, a maximum of 76 sprint, same for hill in the hilly crits, and for cobbles in Belgium. |

Yep.
I can say that most of them are pan flat crits with a lot of laps and a distance of 60-80 km. There are two however that are a lot hiller and have a fewer laps, although around the same distance. |

why, no riders with out full xp?
because as long as you have five, you can do at least one race. |

Will it be possible to send a team with less than 5 riders?
Will the stagiares be eligible for these races (just Belgium and the last one in this case)?
Is there any possibility that a rider with a full xp but with an average bellow X can enter these races?

Teams of 5 riders without max xp will be required - but I think it would be fine for Stagiares to be eligible for all rounds of the Criterium series.

A question:
When you say that no rider with max xp can enter the criterium series, you're saying that any rider at the beggining of the season that is not lv4 xp100 is inscriptionable, right?

Anyone who, at the beginning of the season, ie now, who has 4.99 or less, next to their name, can ride.
