So, here goes the first pro tour race of the year, i guess it deserves it's own thread as it gets a lot of TV coverage.
All stages end in a sprint most likely.
Cancer Council Helpline Classic (yes the name gets longer each year) - Sunday January 17th. Maps and Profile> https://www.tourdo...cFINAL.pdf
Stage 1 - Jan 19th - Clare - Tanuada
Stage 2 - Jan 20th - Gawler - Handorg
Stage 3 - Jan 21st - Unley - Stirling
Stage 4 - Jan 22nd - Norwood - Goolwa
Stage 5 - Jan 23rd Snapper Point - Willunga
Stage 6 - Jan 24th - Adelaide
Talk away about the MOST EXCITING race of the season.
And for Mike..

Cancer-council classic all over:
One-two for Team Sky! Nice win by Henderson and good second place for Sutton, McEwen in third.
It's an impressive start for team Sky - a sign of things to come?
Funny. I remember people asking that last year after McEwen won this race and him and Steegmans got a 1-2 shortly afterwards.
There's a lesson in there somewhere
EDIT: Just saw the highlights. Columbia screwed up and left Greipel to sprint with 500m to go....needless to say the two sky riders were laughing all the way in his wheel

WTF? Columbia has prepared the sprint for the Sky guys. Anyway, it's nice to see Columbia failing sometimes, the last year the sprints were soooo boring
i think the tour down under will be very interesting this year because after the 3rd place greipel wants to take some wins against sky, the australians also want to take many wins and armstrong seems to be very aggressive
i hope there will be videos showing the highlights of the upcoming stages
i would like to know what armstrong thinks about the new black socks of sky

almost missed season start...Peloton looks different (colors, teams etc.)... Exiting season ahead.
Great start for Sky..( I believe that they will enjoy new team magic and will get extra kick..as did Cervelo , Garmin)

Thanks for posting the highlights - awesome to see the new team colours and all
It made me realize how god awfully horrible some of the kits look from the TV spectator's point of view. The Saxo Bank kit is going to give me nightmares. It looks like something out of the 2002 season.
The Astana kit is awesome though.

Anyone notice that both of the Sky sprinters (I don't know about the rest of the team) were wearing skinsuits? It seems strange, even though it is a crit.

Yearh, I noticed...
But it just reminded me about their awful jersey so I just thought: "What the hell"...
i think that skinsuits are not so strange in short races. looking the u19 class nearly the half of the riders (me included) wears one...maybe because the donĀ“t need to carry anything to eat
