Mountain, hill, time-trial, sprint - Vuelta a Burgos has it all in only 5 stages! And who is that guy who is guy in nearly every terrain in this race, Valverde? Yes, and he is on fire, after winning San Sebastian and Urkiola Igoera. Can he match the expectactions? Who will be here to challenge him? Take a look:

Lloret, Taaramae and Basso seems to be Valverde's most dangerous opponents. In the sprint section, in theory, Napolitano should dominate, but sprint stages are always unpredictable, so anything can happen. And, athough Valverde is, in paper, the strongest, cycling is unpredictable, so, like in sprints, anything can happen.
From Stage 3 on, I'll have to calculate the points classification. So, if you find any error, please point it out.

Come on Valverde, give me my 4th sponsors goal.
Also, I am impressed that you are doing two races at the same time

Not so difficult because I've already ended Vuelta a Burgos (only cropping to do) and Volta a Portugal is more than halfway done. I'm expecting to have it all over in a week.
About the race itself, Kiryenka should top 10, in the very least. |

Still good, after cropping, uploading and posting I normally can't be bothered to do another the same day.

First prize to Vespa for laziness in that stage. Think they can go to sleep just because the race is in Spain.... |

In my home race my team couldn't even be bothered to chase. If Valverde loses both his stage races to breakaways I will be most upset

Santander chase throughout the entire stage but after your team (and Olympus) pulled from it, the pack couldn't gain time, if I remember well. |

I guess one issue was that my sprinter was also my flat domestiqeue, I should have bought Perez Arrieta just so Del Nero helped with the chasing.

They were chasing the break because they didn't Lloret to lose much time to the breakaway riders, perhaps. |

Really impressed that Lloret could catch Valverde alone, but as well the extra eight bonus seconds can be very important in GC.

Good ride from Basso. Top 5 would be nice, but probably not achievable. |

Well done by Lloret taking the TT, and will finish 2nd overall less than one minute after Valverde. Could not ask for more. So i get a lot of necessary points, so hopefully i'll get closer to the promotion spots.

2 stages, the overall and points, 2nd in mountain and 4th in young rider, as well as a second and another top ten. All in all a pretty good result, I am looking forwards to the next standings update for the first time in a while.
