Who are the strongest all-round (currently)?? Take away the teams obviously.
O.K Cancellara is the easy choice but lets throw a few more names in the ring:
Lance Armstrong
Andrei Grivko
Mikhail Ignatiev
Tom Boonen ?
Martijn Maaskant
Cadel Evans
Allesandro Ballan ?
Jens Voigt
Sylvain Chavanel
Andreas Kloden
Stefano Garzelli

You miss one good all-round rider on this list. Edvald Boasson Hagen is a good all-rounder.
I'll vote for Voigt.

Pound-for-pound? Hushovd easily. He weighs a bloody ton.
Deliberately missing the point aside, cycling is one of those sports where you can really make a P4P list within reason. The disciplines within it are just too different.

Pound for pound?
I'd say vintage early 2000s Mcewen wins for the welterweight class |

Cancellara. I see no one else who is above average at everything
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

1. Cancellara
2. Popovych
3. Hincapie
I guess that would be judged upon:
1. Hills
2. Mountains
3. Cobbles
4. Time Trial

Cancellara by far. If Devolder showed some regularity he might a good candidate too. |

If TT are not included, i say damiano cunego, ( gilbert loses in hard climbs ), while chuckie, if you include TT, i say edvald boasson hagen, because, in the sprint, is damn better than cancellera, who is the best cronoman anyway.
