Heiko is one of the 7 escapees today.
After the first part of the day was taken care of by UHC, the pack stops pacing with 35kms to go.
With 20kms to go Glud&Marstrand has managed to control the gap, it's at 5min35, which seems enough for the break.
At the foot of the final climb, 6kms from the line, the lead is 5min23. The break will fight it out for the win it seems.
With 2kms to go Heiko escapes from his group!

With 5kms to go Jonas has acquired a perfect position.
Simon is the first to launch his sprint.
However, Jonas has taken the lead coming out of the last corner.
Unfortunately, Edmondson is just too strong and takes the win by a very small gap.

PROJOB AND ODFJELL RETIRE FROM CYCLING
Bad news for the fans of the Projob-Odfjell development team, as both sponsors have just announced their retirement from the sport of cycling. As both teams only had a one-year contract, this might mean trouble for the young riders who have a contract with the team. Manager Selwink has said the decision was already made earlier on, and multiple sponsors seem to be interested in taking over the role of the Scandinavian companies.
Vacansoleil-manager Daan Luijckx however had some good news about sponsors. A new deal for the 'big' team Vacansoleil has been signed. On request of the sponsor the name will be kept secret for an indefinite time, but more and more rumours are circling around about the name, with one of the name mentioned being the internationally known company Philips.

@Cycleman: The news is not too bad, several companies have shown interest and it's almost sure a new contract will be signed. Also, there will be some vacant spots in August, but I'll announce the details at that moment.

Of today's contenders the young Svendsen is the first to start. 54min06 is his time, which is provisionally best.
Peter is our first rider to leave the ramp. 55min16 is provisional 5th.
Not much after Peter Simon sets off as well. 55min20 is provisionally 8th for him.
Björn is our 3rd rider to set off. He sets the same time as Peter today.
Armin is our final rider to set off. He sets a new best time with 53min53.
Immediately after him comes Reidar Borgensen. He loses 17 seconds to Armin, who is now sure of a podium.
Kristoff is the penultimate rider to set off. He is the new fastest with 53min32, 21 seconds faster than Armin.
Edvald Boasson Hagen is the final rider to set off. He does what's expected of him and wins with 52min56.

Too bad the dutch RR is rather hilly. On the flat, something could've been possible for Johnnie.
