Race report

At sprint 1 a break has formed: Ochoa (4-72), Egorov (Itera) and Vanspeybrouck (Ventilair) are off.

Some bad luck for us: Johnnie crashes! He manages to get back easily, luckily.

It's not our day. A little bit later Joep crashes as well!

With 12kms to go the break is reeled in.

With 5kms to go we decided to put some pressure on the pack by letting Timothy go on the attack!

With 1.5kms to go Johnnie has been stuck. We decide to push again, this time with Peter and Ásgeirr.

With 500 meters to go Silvestre is leading, and it seems like an easy victory for him.

At the line

he holds on. Silvestre wins stage 2. Johnnie makes it second with a mighty sprint. Havik is 3rd. Ásgeirr comes 4th and Peter comes 5th.

Our squad
Kristian Hammarling will be our leader for today. He has a good sprint, so a chance for a good result.
Fatbardh Haxhi is his lead-out. A good sprint and a strong flat make him ideal for that.
Heiko Kalichmann seems like a rider for domestique working, but he might try an attack as well.
Khieu Tet Khamphan is another addition for the sprint train. He is good on the flat and should be able to do some work.
Djaja Susanto is a back-up lead-out. He also has a good sprint, but he might try the break as well.

Great victory! It's a surprise that the breakaway could hold it in such a short race. Would've been nice if this was a stage race then they'd start with only four the next day.

Race report

It may have taken 100 kilometers, but we finally have a break. No dangerous riders are in it.

With 10kms to go the final escapee, Teunissen, is reeled in. The max gap of the break hadn't even been 4 minutes.

With 5kms to go one sprint train is built. Guess which one...

With 1km to go Havik has launched himself. Johnnie seems to have a bad day.

At the line

it's Van der Lijke who wins. The young rider from Rabobank surprises the entire field. Johnnie comes only 11th, but with a lot of energy left. He'll be angry.
