@sutty: Yup. He's looking very strong this season.
@Dippo: Pichot makes no sense indeed. At least it gave me a good laugh. Oh, and shame on you for not following enoughPfft

New update probably this afternoon, otherwise the weekend

Our squad
Armin Berg-Hansen will be a domestique today. If he survives the cobbles he is likely to help in the preparation for the sprint.
Peter de Groote has the same role. He might do a few things earlier on as well.
Jonas Ek will do his job in case the cobbles prove to be too hard for Johnnie. If not, sprint train.
Johnnie Flodder is slowly but surely becoming a hero in the .2 races. He'll be co-leader here, but leading in case of a mass sprint.
Joep Gouda will likely be a domestique, here in his home country.
Timothy Raue seems likely to do the same.
Taeke Roorda is another domestique here. He'll be useful in the sprint train.
Ásgeirr Silferberg seems like a good domestique as well.

Race report

It takes a while, but eventually 14 riders get away. We didn't want to let such a break go without representation, so Armin is in it for us.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0813_zps0751d808.jpg

At the first of 4 cobbled sections the pack has already been working hard. 4min43 is the gap with 117kms to go.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0814_zps8792dd33.jpg

With 8kms to go Wytinck attacks from the pack. Up ahead Zaballa is the only escapee left.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0815_zpsad09fd9e.jpg

With 3kms to go only Zaballa. We are coming close as team, but the organisation is far from perfect.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0816_zpsad7b306a.jpg

Under the banner Zaballa seems to be caught. Johnnie is sprinting strongly, but he is still behind Aistrup and Van Zandbeek.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0817_zpscffa434c.jpg

With 500 meters to go Johnnie and Van Zandbeek will fight it out it seems.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0818_zps684aeba8.jpg

At the line
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0819_zpse9934334.jpg
Johnnie wins! (I mistimed the screen, but it seems pretty clear.) Van Zandbeek collapsed, coming 3rd, behind Ghyllebert.

I'll be announcing here as well: I'll be gone for the next 2 days, due to a school trip. First part of Olympia's Tour preview is made, but not finished yet. I may have some homework, so it might be up even later than wednesday

Johnnie Flodder.... Now where did I hear that before GrinGrinGrinGrin #flodder

Selwink
@krisa: He didn't do too bad, the wind just killed him. He was an important domestique in the first 150kms.
Thanks everyone

As you may have thought, I'm back home. I am, however, exhausted and not feeling well, so I am unable to do pretty much anything. If I keep on continuing feeling like this an update seems very unrealistic for tomorrow.

About my trip, it was fun but useless.

The profiles

Stage 1
i62.tinypic.com/16gbgg4.jpg
A prologue to kick off this edition. The specialists are likely to contend for an early lead here.

Report

Stage 2
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/SELWIN-PC/PCM0821_zpsfe5e2782.jpg
The first of many flat stages. A sprint seems inevitable.

report

Stage 3
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/SELWIN-PC/PCM0822_zps728ef4f1.jpg
Same in this stage. Practically no hills, so another mass sprint seems likely.

report

Stage 4
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/SELWIN-PC/PCM0823_zpsd5f839bf.jpg
You can probably guess by now.

report

Stage 5
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/SELWIN-PC/PCM0824_zpscc38da1d.jpg
And another one

report

Stage 6
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/SELWIN-PC/PCM0825_zpsfacfc90a.jpg
The ITT should make some differences. It's not too long, so some sprinters might hang on.

report

Stage 7
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/SELWIN-PC/PCM0826_zpsecd3aec2.jpg
The final stage is quite tricky. We climb some hills on the way, including the Cauberg. The last part is flat though, so a sprint makes sense.

report

Our squad
Peter de Groote will be co-leader. Depending on the bonifications earned and the influence of the time trial, his leader role is decided.
Johnnie Flodder is the other leader. If he takes enough time in the mass sprints, an overall victory isn't unrealistic.
Joep Gouda is a protector here, for the leaders.
Timothy Raue will do the same here.
Taeke Roorda is initially a domestique. In the time trials he can do something by himself though.
Ásgeirr Silferberg will also try to show himself individually in the time trials. For the rest domestique work for him.

The Olympia Tour looks ready made for many sprint battles, Good Luck Wink

The Rider
Flodder may well take a sprint win here. Smile

But why only 6 riders? Fatbardh Haxhi would have loved to have raced here. Sad Wink

Bring it on Cool
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Selwink
@sutty: Thanks, hopefully the sprints bring some success.
@The Rider: That seems likely indeed. There are 6 riders due to clashes with 2 other races. Fatbardh will probably enjoy his cobbled racing.
@Ollfardh: We'll go for it!

Race report

Wastyn is the first to set a time at the line: 7min13.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0829_zps2d4bec6a.jpg

Vermeltfoort beats the current leading time with ease: 6min50 is 6 seconds faster than the current leader.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0830_zpsfa5ac1a5.jpg

Silferberg sets a provisional 4th. 6min56 is his time.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0831_zps5064ebe8.jpg

Roorda does better, with a provisional 3rd and a time of 6min53.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0832_zps2ceb4fb8.jpg

Müller sets a new best time! 6min45 will be hard to beat.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0833_zps3a7c6309.jpg

Raue loses 16 seconds. Not a shame for a pure climber like him.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0834_zps1db2fab5.jpg

Hamelink also makes it a 6min45!
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0835_zps43a50876.jpg

Gouda loses some time with 6min57.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0836_zps8fe9539d.jpg

De Groote does his prologue in 6min54. Provisional 9th.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0837_zps383cf539.jpg

Vermeulen does it in 6min53. A bit disappointing for him.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0838_zps575afb2f.jpg

Mestre is the 3rd rider with 6min45!
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0839_zpscc3b953a.jpg

Flodder loses 16 seconds. That can be made up in the sprints though. His final sprint did cause the photographers not to be able to make a picture of him.

Our winner for today is
