Great to have him back in F1 but why in Caterham?, I think that a turtle could be faster than that car |

Lotus expected to release small single seaters in about 9 months now.
Lots of fun potential in these new cars... |

Priceless. For the 2nd year in a row Hamilton crashed the Mercedes on its first run
Gary Whitehead, former mechanic with Mercedes, sniggered last year on twitter that they would make up a mechanical failure as an excuse so Hamilton wouldn't be embarrassed. They did. Seems they did it again this year. Last year brakes, this year front wing.
Gary Anderson just said: "If the front wing failed, how come I saw it coming back to the pits intact?"

I heard a funny story, not sure how much of it is accurate, but the global idea remains.
When Kimi drove in WRC for Citroƫn he got to test the Peugeot 908. I believe it was the "new" one, so it must have been early 2011 or so.
After four laps, reportedly, he had already beaten the car's record. When he stepped down the car he sort of impersonated Senna about the Porsche : "no steering, no braking, heavy. I hate this car."
Apparently Sarrazin was amused but another grumpy driver (was that Bourdais or Montagny ?) got more grumpy. |

Things keep going wrong for RBR in Bahrain. First they are very late to start running and almost straight away they are stopped in smoke by overheating again.
Alonso headed Hamilton and Magnussen (who looks pretty good). Hulk was top of the sheets but i believe he was using a different tyre compound on that lap.
First sight on the Lotus in action. Renault engines down the bottom end as the heating issue doesn't seem to have been fixed. Running out of time fast if that is the case.

Another bad day for RBR in Bahrain. Final day of the test and they get 15 laps done before it all goes wrong again.
Other Renault teams looking better but the Ferrari and Mercedes powered teams getting good running if not amazing times.
And it's the Daytona 500! I can't watch it live but will be catching up on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday when i get a chance. Should be good looking at the qualification and duel results

And now I'm upset. The Pennsylvanians are the only ones who watch NASCAR.

Things keep going bad for Renault engine teams. And this time, Lotus had their turn. The car went on fire during today's last day of pre-season testing. Oh, and the best Renault team is... CATHERAM!!! |

The fact that Caterham manage to run their car with a Renault engine suggests Renault are not the only ones to blame for Red Bull (and Lotus) current problems.
It still seems they have a ~65 hp deficit compared to Mercedes, and that Ferrari are between those two in terms of power.
I'm curious to see if the 107 % rule will be enforced in Australia though. |
