Ollfardh
Oh well, can't always win Smile
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Selwink
@Ollfardh: That's true. The way Johnnie was blocked was a disgrace though.
@All: Once again sorry for the delay, but school took over.

Race report

4 riders in the break today. Khieu's biggest opponent will be Bosisio.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0720_zps6b65b1be.jpg

The break aims on the mountain points today. Taeke is probably losing his polkadots today. With 62kms to go, Bosisio takes over the lead.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0721_zps030d5eb2.jpg

On the final cobbled section 6 riders got away. Johnnie is supported by Fatbardh and Jonas, while Khieu can be useful later on as well.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0722_zpsd0a2a6a4.jpg

With 40kms to go, everyone, including the early attackers, is reeled in.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0723_zps65549c96.jpg

With 30kms to go we have a new attacker: Vanspeybrouck it is.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0724_zps0008c2e8.jpg

With 5kms to go all attacks have been reeled in, apart from this one: Vanbilsen, Eeckhout, Napolitano and Duyn are in it.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0725_zps12e7cf2b.jpg

Under the banner Napolitano somehow has a lot of energy left.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0726_zps445abc1b.jpg

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0727_zpsd588cade.jpg
This is obviously enough for him. Napolitano wins stage 4! Vermeltfoort holds on to yellow though.

General conclusion

Not the worst result of all. Despite all bad luck we had we still managed to finish with a nice stage win and 2 riders in the top-10 of the GC

Ask your question!

Vacansoleil obviously wants this team to have some publicity. That's why the team has decided to make it possible to send your questions to the current star of Projob-Odfjell: Johnnie Flodder. He will be able to answer your questions. A full interview will be posted soon.

Spoiler
Send your questions (max 2!) in PM to me. Just to repeat, a PM to me

Race profile
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0728_zps792afc6e.jpg
The race profile offers opportunities for the specialists on cobbles. As the cobbles are quite late, the big action will take place there. Expect high pace and high risks.

Our squad
Peter de Groote will be a domestique for the flat, with perhaps some relays to be taken.
Jonas Ek will be one of the main riders. He is a good cobbler, which might give him a good result.
Johnnie Flodder may not be the best cobbler of the team, but because he is quite a good sprinter and not too bad on the cobbles, he might surprise again, just like in Nokere.
Fatbardh Haxhi is, just like Jonas, a good cobbler. Combine that with a good sprint and you have a dangerous rider ready.
Khieu Tet Khamphan is cobbler no.3 of the squad, alongside Fatbardh and Jonas. A good fighting spirit means he mustn't be underestimated.
Taeke Roorda will be domestique on the flat once again. We'll see how he can help our leaders.
Ásgeirr Silferberg will be another domestique. He will mainly protect on the flat.
Djaja Susanto has shown some decent sprinting already. Hopefully he can be useful for Johnnie here.

Race report

A break of 10 riders is away for today: Khieu is representing us, other riders include Ignatiev and Wellens.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0730_zpsc7626e91.jpg

Very little happens today. This doesn't change at the first cobbled sector, where the break has 2min45.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0731_zps27eb10c5.jpg

It doesn't seem our day today. The cut is only survived by Fatbardh. Johnnie and Jonas try to come back though.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0732_zpsf94e873f.jpg

With the gap at 2min at the penultimate cobbled section, 23kms from the line, Khieu decides to set the pace in the break.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0733_zpsd4ac4bb2.jpg

As we hit the final cobbled section Kaupas is alone in front. Hayman is approaching quickly though.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0734_zpsb09ce651.jpg

With 5kms to go it will be between Hayman and Kaupas for the win. Khieu is trying to hold on to his solo 3rd.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0735_zpsfc15a5f4.jpg

While Khieu is dropping a little Kaupas tries to surprise Hayman!
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0736_zps647be7d4.jpg

And it works! Vytautas Kaupas wins the GP Pino Cerami 2013!
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0737_zps8bfbcf76.jpg

Behind Kaupas, Hayman, Rast, Marcato and Anciaux it's Khieu coming 6th! Great result for the Malaysian.

Close to a deal

It was a little quiet in the Vacansoleil headquarters after the announcement of the retirement of both main sponsors. Daan Luijckx, the team manager, however stated he is on the edge of signing a deal with a new main sponsor. Although there are many speculations about the name of the new sponsor, nobody is sure of the company that is supposed to follow up the Dutch vacation company for the next season.

Our squad
Armin Berg-Hansen is important as a domestique for today once again. He can also help in the sprint train.
Peter de Groote will try to show himself in his home region today, although it seems likely he'll have to work in the train as well.
Johnnie Flodder will be our main man today. The sprinter, still in a good shape, is hoping to reach the top-3 of the continental ranking after this race.
Joep Gouda is a domestique here today. He'll try to do well in his home country.
Timothy Raue will also be used for domestique work. He will try to help as well as possible.
Taeke Roorda will probably be used in the sprint train. The time trialist should be important there.
Ásgeirr Silferberg is also here for the sprint train. He'll stay quite far to the front today in order to help.
Djaja Susanto is one of the key man helping Johnnie. Being the second best sprinter here, he'll lead out the Dutch sprinter.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0744_zps8ec0b41b.jpg

Althought McNally manages to reach the 3 leaders, he is reeled in together with them with 15kms to go.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0745_zps4aabd89a.jpg

Because Djaja got blocked we had to change plans. With 3.5kms to go Taeke is leading, ahead of Peter and Johnnie.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0746_zps7f847c0f.jpg

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0747_zpsee34142d.jpg

With 500 meters to go Sentjens has overtaken Brambilla, but Haedo and Johnnie are approaching.
