Some young talents have already signed for next season, and we might see a few more transformations within the team for the riders that over 32 years old. This will be a well needed improve to the squad on that front. Jamis will look to focus on cyclists from the USA, Colombia and Argentina but might stretch their options to Canada and one European country.

Summary: The past month has been pretty much all about one rider:
Tanel Kangert
After starting out in the Tour of Oman with a clever stage win and a 4th place in the overall, the Estonian then went to the Vuelta a AndalucÃa, won another stage and claimed 3rd overall, before showing up for the currently running Paris-Nice. The decisive stages there are still to come, but Kangert has already moved up to a strong position in the overall thanks to yet another late attack and stage win. Make sure not to miss how he does in the overall!
Kangert aside, Michal Kwiatkowski has also had a strong month. 3rd in the Vuelta a la Región de Murcia was followed up by a victory in GP di Lugano and a few strong results in various Italian classics. Next stop for him is Tirreno-Adriatico, which is only at the beginning so far.
The team has come a long way here in its 5th season, now being treated as the team to beat of the other WT-teams making breaks very hard, but also proving that the original mission was possible: Making the North a real super-power of cycling.

Summary: The season in Australia's premier cycling series has kicked off and already four NRS-events have been held. Nathan Earle looks like the most serious contender so far after dominating in the opening event in Tasmania and continuing to score high on regular base.. But also last year's runner-up Mark O'Brien managed to grab a win in Toowoomba most recently, so did his former team Budget Forklifts - thanks to a solo-coup by Alex Wohler in the Adelaide Tour, that finished a few days ago.
The domestic cycling scene in Australia is maybe one of the most interesting in the world, it ain't surprising to see several riders managing to "promote" to the World Tour right from the NRS - like Earle will do in 2014 (Team Sky).. this story provides a detailed DB, real races and several riders to cheer for. Summary: After a very successful career where he’s won classics and stage races at the highest level, one could only wonder what a rider like JoaquÃm RodrÃguez could still achieve. Going into 2013 though, one prize still alluded the ageing Spaniard – a Grand Tour. This year could be his last chance.
2013 got underway this month. The first couple of blogs covered the Spaniard’s build up for the year’s racing, including a training ride in Andorra with his fellow Katusha teammates. This was all in preparation for JoaquÃm’s first race of the year, the Tour of Oman.
The first couple of stages went really well, with him taking the victory on stage 2! However on the mountainous stage 4 he was dropped by Froome, leaving him in second overall going into the final couple of stages. The race is now finely poised going into the final two stages. Can JoaquÃm regain the race lead on the hills? Drop in, in the near future, if you want to see.

Summary: Karl Hammarling returns after an extended break from the story sections. Picking up right where he was left TMM throws us right into his difficult third season.
Using short but daily updates Karl has been put through the hard life already, clashing several times with team boss Malcolm and battling some inner demons. Most recently he won the UK NC and got a contract offer in the USA.
On the surface the update style may look similar to Mre's but get into reading and that fades away leaving behind quality story telling. This is not a story about racing, this is a story about a man. And with six A4 pages pre-written it is not going away!

Summary: Hello, my name is Marc Velpois, I'm 19 years old and thanks to my good results as a junior, I directly entered the pro cycling world.
The team that signed me is the French Team FDJ that is now called Équipe Cycliste FDJ.fr. I did pretty well during my first races winning my first one in Belgium at the occasion of the Samyn. Thanks to my good results I get a spot in the team for the E3 Prijs Vlaanderen - Harelbeck anf for Gent - Wevelgem. But my most importants results so far is that I'm leading the PMU French Cup with a comfortable lead. This will be my main objective for the last part of the season.
To conclude my presentation, I would quote my trainer : "you can be good at everything, chose where you want to be the best."
Ah, yes, finding the loophole in the system for back-to-back nominations... genius move
Know my vote for main story, not even a question in my mind! Another great month for stories. Interesting how the new stories primarily seem to be One-Rider focused but the main ones are Team focused.
For me it's the comeback and Karl Hammarling. Don't really follow any of the new stories, but I've silently followed Hammarling a bit and it looks pretty good.
Shame Norwegian Wood didn't make it through to the end, or I feel it'd be a certain nomination. Also, a lot of new stories have started late November,
Caleb Ewan, Kwiatkowski, May the Dream come True, etc etc etc.
Will these be eligible for new stories next time?
Yes, those stories will be eligible for New story next month. I usually keep a 5-6 day window into the previous month so times more if there is a huge exception. It's only fair to the writers because most don't plan (and shouldn't plan) when in the month they should start their story.
December will not have the (New) Story of the Month Awards.
Instead it will be used for the Yearly Awards like it has been in the past.
This makes my job a bit easier and I also don't have to get people to
write their story summaries over the Holidays so your welcome as well.
Awards will return in January and any new stories that started
in December will still have option to be part of the
New Story of the Month category in January.
Enjoy the Holidays! Stay tuned for the 2013 PCM.Daily Awards!
Will you keep the nominations that are already sent in for the next month or should we re-sent them when the time comes? Maybe even nominate twice, once for December, one for January?
"It’s a little bit scary when Contador attacks." - Tommy V
I do all the nominations myself so there is no need for that. All you have to do is vote when the time comes. If one of your favourite stories doesn't get nominated that's when you vote for it. If it receives 3 votes I will include it with the other nominations.
