As you can image, my parents were distraught about the baby news.
Yet, my mother was a tiny bit happy that she was going to be a grandmother.
"Travis, I thought this day would never come. No offence."
Well, thanks mom. My dad was in one of his stroke induced moods and
was struggling to comprehend the information I was saying.
Although he did look a lot better since I last saw him a month ago
before I had left to take part in the Amgen Tour of California.
And at least neither of them pointed a shotgun at me, so that's a plus.
I would have stayed in Kansas longer but
I had I training camp with Bissell the following day.
(I thought the UCI had banned in-season training camps
because it gave cyclists some sort of unfair advantage.
Hmm, so maybe we are just having a mandatory team meeting.)
That wasn't the question rolling around in my head. It was:
Is Chloe going to be at the airport?
That seems like a good place to stop.

Well since this is the first episode of season 7...
Why not make it a special longer episode!
When I got to the airport, Chloe wasn't there.
You're the one that wanted more... my life isn't some fairy-tale.
I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. And waited some more.
"Final boarding call for flight 326, Kansas City to Los Angeles."
She couldn't do it, or more likely, her dad didn't let her do it.
I gave it my best shot, what more could I have said?
My luck, or better said now, my fate had struck again.
There is no way Chloe is having that baby now that I'm leaving.
So I guess we will never know what could have been.
I'm not an emotional guy, but...

My phone, I was getting a text message!
But wouldn't Chloe call me if she was running late?

@547984: Great to hear. Will be up in a few minutes. However it will probably be my only one for today. Need to get some school work done.
@jseadog1: I think I have built up the tension to the max by now. 
@Jakstar22: Okay, okay, calm down. I know how you feel, I just can't write them fast enough at the moment. Even though I have been doing 2-3 updates per day now.
@sutty68: I actually struggled a lot to write this one, so I'm glad it's quality still matches with my other updates. It was a bit different but I like the way it came out looking back at it now.
@Ian Butler: SPAM, where!?!? I thought I got all of it before I went to bed last night, I guess not. Thanks to the other admin that picked up whatever was left. Funny that it attacked my story, they don't know who they're messing with.

I guess you could say
my future was messaging me.
I handed my ticket over to the
lady working the gate.
Down the ramp and into the plane.
Everyone was waiting on me. But,
then a guy at the back of the plane stood up.
"Hey that's Travis Newton, I saw you on TV."
Next thing I know I'm swarmed by
people asking for autograph.
It's the first time anybody
ever wanted my autograph.
I was honored but at the same time
couldn't stop thinking about Chloe.
I'm fairly certain that I signed Chloe's name
on a few of them by mistake.
"Folks can you please sit back down, we are already late as it is.
Wait, hold on... the pilot has just informed me there is one more
passenger that just made it to the gate. You may continue standing."
No way! Could it be?

@The Hobbit: While that's still a ways a way (January/February 2014) and anything can happen, thanks for starting the baby name talk. I'd love to hear what you guys can come up with. I have a list of about 5 names for each gender. When the time comes I'm doing a random generator for gender and out of the names I like. So, if I like your suggestion I'll throw it into the mix.
Zoe is 100% in the running Not sure about George, maybe Wesley.

Firstly: it's another great update. Writing is very good.
But if I may, a small point of criticism: the text next to the picture gets cut off too much and doesn't read that smoothly. Just a minor point, still a great episode |
