Although there's still a few weeks to go before we release the Public Beta of PCM.daily's 2012 DB, we figured it'd be a good idea to give you a little preview.
This Pre-Beta Version contains the updated teams and rosters, 2012 graphics for about 33 teams (RusVelo is temporarily using the Russian national jersey) along with palmares for all World Tour and HC races of 2011. It also contains the 2012 profiles of 11 races, including the Giro d'Italia and World Championship, and compared to the PCM.daily Expansion Pack, it also contains lots of new real profiles (rather than the usual Cyanide recycled stages). There's also a bunch of new variants - now 8 Tour de France variants in total, 6 Vuelta variants and 10 World Championship variants.
So what's missing? Well, first of all, the stats have hardly been updated yet. We have imported the equipment from Fenian's Add-On, but other than those changes, it's left pretty much unchanged. Lastly, the team rosters were updated between December and January, meaning that some rosters are not fully updated. Obviously, they will be before the release of the Public Beta. Also, new team shirts are being released daily, so this release will be outdated almost instantly - which is also why we're withholding the final release until end January, start February.
With the release, we hope we can get some general feedback - are there any teams you'd like to be included, any specific races etc. Also, while the World Tour teams will be updated stats-wise, it's less likely that we will spend a lot of time on the teams below World Tour level. Knowing that we have a lot of experts out there, don't hesistate to send us your stat suggestions - preferably by e-mail (). If you do, please be specific and argue for the changes you'd like to be implemented.
Anyway, with those warnings, let's go straight to the download (this Pre-Beta requires that Expansion Pack V1 is installed):

I forgot to attach this:
If you'd like to skip the 2012 season and go straight to 2013, here's a OmegaPharma-Quickstep based save-game.
I simulated the season, but my assistant coach got a few good results, e.g. Boonen won both P-R and the Ronde.
I lost Tony Martin (forgot to renew ) and a couple of other riders, but signed Van Den Broeck, Samuel Sanchez (sorry, couldn't resist. He was a free agent by the end of the season ) and one or two other riders.

E3 Prijs Vlaanderen - Harelbeke is a WorldTour-race this year.

Off topic but did you simulate the season using quick sim of every race or is there an easier way? |

You can simulate by clicking the dates in the calendar at the bottom of the screen. |

Haha, I thought I misunderstood the question, so I changed it.

If anyone wants to play with Cavendish as the World RR (and Martin as World ITT), I updated the database file. Just download it to My Docs/PCM/Database and select it in-game.

Since this is named "pre-beta" does that mean that there will be an update for the beta (pre-beta to beta perhaps) that doesn't require as large a download because of already having the pre-beta?
I assume so, and I figure I could try and help out anyway, but I'm sure others have had the same question, as it comes up every year

I hadn't planned on making an Pre-Beta to Public Beta Update, but on the other hand, it wouldn't be much work to make one. |

Garmin wears the old white Giro Ionos instead of that new Blue helmet that was being used for the EXP Pack.
And Hong Kong and a few other country flags are also pink although I figure thats my fault.
Also Efapel - Barbot's logo is pink, atleast for me.

The flags are fine for me but the Efapel logo is pink.
I think the Tour de Vendée causes a crash when you click on it. Does for me anyway. |

I'd love to have some aussie races in the calendar, eg Herald Sun Tour, real championships route, and I think something the story writers would love, the Jayco Bay Cycling Classic so there is a new race to start the season.
