Flat stage, but it ends in an uphill kick - thus making it unpredictable.
The breakaway goes early, and at the first KoM it is Girardi from Flaksis, Dennis and Griffith
Flaksis takes the 2nd climb though
Worrying news for Cerne as chief leadoutman Jose Martins crashes. He gets back to the peloton though
Griffith takes the intermediate sprint
By 13km to go, the break is caught
The riders clearly know that an uphill finish is coming then, some strong rider attack. Ochoa Quintero, Van Ooijen, Eastman, Evans and Lloret
Lloret is the strongest, Van Ooijen chasing, but thats a 20 second gap for the Bianchi rider
Rodas attacks!!!! Ochoa Quintero and Kessiakoff too
Comes to nothing though, they and Lloret are caught, so Evans has another go
But powering up the 4% slope, Cerne take control, Martins leading Santos, fully recovered from his crash
Sinner, Martinez, Carrara, Keukeleire, Haedo and Sabatini are in the train
Santos launches first but Carrara quickly comes through to the lead - Keukeleire is completely unable to follow
Sinner moves out from past Santos, with Martinez also looking dangerous
Into the lead goes Sinner, infront of Carrara
But charging through from a long way back into the lead, its Lucas Haedo!
Just getting a gap isnt enough though, as Carrara starts to move back into it
Carrara is quicker, as Haedo tries to block him in by the barriers - while Kessiakoff is coming quickly on the far right
Carrara finds enough space, its verrry close
Photo finish, but Haedo seems oddly confident, starting to celebrate!
And he just sneaks it! Haedo provides Aker with a 4th stage win of the race, Carrara must settle for 2nd, milimetres short of earning Vespa a consolatory win after a shocker of a day yesterday.
Kessiakoff, Sinner and Santos complete the Top 5. No change in any classification
