Has anyone experimented with the new "Google Maps" feature yet? If I'm not mistaken it seems to overlay the GPX/DEM data with the road/river/city lay-out of Google Maps. Or was it in the PCM10 stage editor already and I just failed to find it? |

The feature didn't work in PCM10, but now it's working fine.

The smoothy risk looks different, yes. But that's because it's different profiles Anyway, you may be right and we should go the less risky way and convert the most important races But I will continue testing..
Really appreciate this. Unfortunately I don`t have much time for testing in the next weeks with my exams. But alone for the new graphic models I will convert them. And as you said, it`s the less risky way. |

Thats sounds like it could be quite a useful feature then!

I just made one test now.
Paris Roubaix made with PCM2010 editor and loaded in PCM11 stage viewer.
There are no risks. I think there should some at road width and cobble risk for sure as also in the last 2.
I will convert the stage later today and try it again to compare.
If there are risks then, it`s definitely necessary to convert I think. |

It's weird.. the only "Risks", which seem to work, are the "smoothed".. I've tested the Roubaix-version, that comes with the original DB and I would have expected to see something in "Cobble Risk".. but it's nothing shown.. but "Smoothed risks" is working. Would be nice to see your Roubaix-version converted, roturn!
Here's the StageData for Cyanide's 11-Roubaix:

Same stage as in my last post, but after the convert. Still no cobble risk but therefore there is a smooth risk there now.
Edit: Just tested a stage, that was completely build with the PCM11 editor and also just marks in the smooth risk area.
As Paris Roubaix just had marks after the convert I think it`s necessary for the gameplay.
Also just asked Eyolfur as I had some other questions, too. Answer was that it`s definitely necessary.

I'm also trying to convert my stages, but I have a problem. Some circuits are causing lots of errors (not enough space between...). In the PCM10 these ones worked.
Any solution? Is it a bug?

I have this problem, too with the Berlin Pro Race. Something with <20km on reverted and 10km on other circuits. Haven`t really understood where the problem is. Will have to check it later again, when I have more time.
Obviously there are some more rules in the new editor. |

Because a circuit have to be at least 10 km now. It's really annoying.

In PCM 2010, programers have put a limit >10 km but it doesn't work for everybody (some creator were able to create 5km circuits). They change it in the 2011 editor and this time it is really "working". |

Ridiculous
The game worked fine with small circuits, and it was really useful. Cyanide could do better fixing things that are broken, rather than changing things that are perfectly fine

But why?
I made a team timetrial with 2 1/2 laps. Each lap had 3,5km. (PCM10)
This was quite nice and it isn`t possible now.
Also Berlin Pro Race has a 8km circuit in the end. PCM11 can`t convert it now. ;( |

That's bad.. I've made a lot of short circuits for PCM10, especially smaller stage-races in Amercia (for example) often have a criterium...
..I would have expected - like SN already said - that Cyanide only worked on improving (!) the editor.. okay, there's the Google-maps-thing, that's nice..

Just tested some of my stages. Lots of them have this problem. I really consider not to convert them and have gameplay problems (maybe) before I make an unrealistic route.
This is just that ridiculous. It`s like going back to the old PCM09 stage editor, where no circuits were possible. The new circuit system just sucks as half of all circuit races won`t work now, although they worked without any problems in PCM10. |

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the elements a city is made up of?
For instance, if I want to create a square but the editor keeps feeding me "tree transitions" instead of "empty transitions", how do I change them? I know you can choose between the two, but clicking on either of them doesn't seem to make much of a difference...
Thanks! |

I've tested the same stage with and without re-export. In PCM10 the stage have some 1 spline road (I hate the 1 spline road in PCM11) and I've re-exported that stage with 2 spline road.
I must say, major difference in favour of PCM11. Many attacks and interesting game play with the re exported PCM11-version. Personally I would use the 1 spline road as little as possible.

Totally agree. 1 spline roads are very annoying. Except of my early stages I totally avoided them. |

So it's now possible to make the GPX file in google maps and then "skip" the bikeroutetoaster?

If you have the coordinates (google them, there are tools for this), then you can go to this point in the editor and make the route on the integrated google maps view.
I am still using bikeroutetoaster to be faster in the editor, without always checking for the route.
But it`S easier to see the road crosses, towns, sees etc. |
