Stage 2 Report

Stage 2 is another one for the sprinters, 197k into Amilly. No KOMs today but 2 sprint points.

KOM leader pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/ced.png Stojnic is the first attacker but the peloton decides he shouldn’t be allowed to go and Assa Abloy and Hunter Valley chase him down.

Those two teams along with King Power keep the pace high and with 30k gone there is no breakaway and only Stojnic tried it. Not clear the story here, it is over 100k to the sprint point so they aren’t riding for that.

They get to about 1’20 and 3 more riders attack out of the peloton but they are quickly shut down.

Assa Abloy, Hunter Valley and King Power up the pace and the gap doesn’t really grow with 125k to Kjamini is dropped by the break and absorbed into the peloton. The other two breakaway riders absorbed 6k later. It is back to grupo compacto.

Hunter Valley pushes the pace a little longer but then they turn it over to the sprint team. Specialized very prominent after their failure yesterday. Assa Abloy notable by their absence.

1.5k to go, only Bolt-Eesti has been able to get up to Specialized and they have Mihkels ahead of Peak, for Specialized it is Lund Andresen and Grosu. Halvorsen the other rider with them.

500 meters, Peak about to launch, Halvorsen furthest forward of the lead sprinters but he has been in the wind for a while. Grosu still waiting. Dainese may just be doing a great lead out for Enger and Kooij.

200 meters, still Halvorsen, Grosu has launched but not much road left for him. Peak doesn’t seem to have had his kick today, Dainese is almost up to him.
